Well in reality probably a bit of both.
Having moved away from Chicago winters many years ago simply because I am not built for them was a good decision for us. Working in the Caribbean in the winter ranks at one of the best winter decisions ever! Well this week I get to go back to Chicago. Managed to tear my meniscus cartelage. Ouch. I have been using ice to fix it. My own prescription mind you LOL. And it worked on some level along with trying to stay off of it. But I flew back to get the diagnosis and was told that continue walking on it was stupid. Oops. Chicago as opposed to Las Vegas because I know and trust this orthopedic surgeon. How sad a comment on my life is it when I actually have a specialist like that I have used multiple times? Turns out that cartelage is fairly important. Used to be they just removed it and virtually guaranteed a knee replacement would be in your future. Mine just gets a trim. Hopefully doesn't need more. Should be an easy recovery. Especially compared to the shoulder replacement and ACL replacement and all that. Theoretically it should be a few days at most. So I once again proclaim that I am hoping this is it! (Can one proclaim and hope in the same sentence? Well I just did!)

I can imagine. I am hopefully avoiding what you just had done.
On the bright side it brings us home and to LA a bit sooner.

Best wishes for a speedy and healthy recovery.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
