Is there anyone out there who knows their way around Microsoft Access 97? (or any version of Access) who wouldn't mind corresponding with me through PM? I'd really appreciate it.
... I'm trying to build a Database for tracking Magic. I'm keeping track of all my family and friends who I perform for, and the effects I perform for them. That way I don't end up showing them the same thing twice. I also want to track my practice sessions, so that I can simply place a "check" next to the effects I've practiced on a given day, and the database will flag what effects haven't been practiced in a while. That sort of thing. For that matter, has anyone else thought of this idea and have a database that they use? |

No, its a serious request. A little bit of work up front, sure, but then its done. A legitimate way for me to organize my relationship with my hobby.
... I'll also learn about databases as a side benefit |

Adrian,
Here is the easiest way to do it. Go to Microsoft's web site and look at the templates for Access. Download a template for CD's, Cassette Tapes, etc. Then you can change the forms to display what you want. I've done this for my shows. I enter Name, Date of Performance, and type of show. Then, where the tracks are supposed to be listed, I enter the name of the effect. Instead of time or other information, you can list the reponse, or whatever. It is up to you what you want to do, all of the hard work is done. Steven
