I am sorry to report one of the greats in Magic has incurable brain cancer

One of the few people in Magic that you can truly call a Legend was given the news just days ago and after official announcement his wife Debbie McGee tweeted simply "with great sadness"

Tributes poured in to the much loved star as his shocked family gathered around him

No way, I can't believe it. That's just terribly sad news. So many taken way too young by cancer. What a vicious disease it is. My thoughts are with Paul and his family. Much love to them. Oh man

This is very sad news. The greatest thrill of my career was working on the same stage with Paul several times around the world. We just did the last edition of VANISH magic magazine featuring Paul and it was an amazing story and interview. It is a real insight in to Paul and his advice is priceless for any magician.

So sad to hear about this.
He has inspired and supported me so much without any hesitation and without ever meeting me in person.
I hope him best of courage wholeheartedly.

Very sad news.

Met Paul many times over the years(1st time at 18 years of age) & he was always very nice & friendly.

He's as good if not better at performing these days than he ever was. A truly brilliant magician & entertainer.

A diagnosis of cancer is bad enough, but to know there is nothing positive in the prognosis has to be the worst. Bless him and his loved ones for the duration of his journey. My thoughts are with them all.

Check out my all time favourite cigarette through card by Paul. Just a beautifully crafted routine, it show how skilled and accomplished he really is. He really is a master of the art.

As a child growing up in the UK in late 70s and 80's he was by far the greatest influence and inspiration to me regarding my magic life. Very sad news. Wishing him and Debbie and his family all the very, very best. A true Legend.

Very sad to hear of Paul's passing today.

He brought a new era of magic to British TV and his ability to 'entertain' with magic has rarely been surpassed.

I will spend some time today watching his tribute to Max Malini, which was the perfect vehicle for his talents and is an ideal reminder that some of the greatest magical effects are the legacy left to us by those no longer with us.

My thoughts are with your family.
