So far, I've found only two tricks which use them, and it's only the Mummy so far. They're actually pocket-tricks. One is where the spectator-participant puts the Mummy into one of three Sarcophagi (yes, plural-wording for Sarcophagus) at which the magician uses divination to ascertain which contains the Mummy. Surprisingly, I have an old Blackstone-Senior book which included that trick already, way back when.
The other Mummy trick is a Sucker-trick where the Magician challenges the spectator-participant to make the Mummy lay down in the Sarcophagus. The spectator constantly fails, but the Magician can do it right away. But I have not seen Frankenstein or the Werewolf used in Magic performances, which is why I ask. After all, this section of the forum is for the Scary. So why not Frankenstein and the Werewolf and the Mummy? |

Somebody told me that there was a magic set called Creepy Magic which included macabre tricks such as Dismembered Limbs, etc. But I don't know whether it included those three Monsters or not.

You've got Frankenstein Silks
http://www.missionmagic.co.uk/silk-set-f......reat-fun And for the Werewolf, you could use the King in Green with a different story. http://alchemy-moon.freeforums.net/thread/519/king-green Pascal |

Monster Monte by Magicbob is in The Wizards' Journal #14 - using Dracula, Werewolf and Frankenstein. Spellbinder's "Return of the Werewolf" is in The Wizards' Journal #4. Dracula's Coffin by Chris Dunn is in The Wizards' Journal #19. Spellbinder's "Force Field" is in The Wizards' Journal #18 and his "Oh Dracula!" is in The Wizards' Journal #24. "Curse of the Vampire" will be showing up soon in The Wizards' Journal #31.
I guess the real problem is that these Hollywood movie characters are only scary to teens and under, while the true bizartists that inhabit this realm are into REALLY scary stuff that plays on subliminal fears to which we all are prone.

FORGETFUL FRANKIE and a mummy routine by Mike Bent. Osborne Illusions has a "Hand Of The Werewolf" illusion (kind of a mini "Girl to Gorilla". My mummy routine uses concepts from Mark Wilson's Encyclopedia of Magic. An egyptian woman is wrapped in a large cloth and a sarcophagus is opened to reveal a mummy (prop). The mummy is placed back inside and the cloth is unwrapped to reveal a male egyptian in the place of the woman. When the sarcophagus is reopened the egyptian woman, in new costuming, has replaced the prop mummy.

I LOVE my MISMADE MONSTER by wackomagic. I'm not sure if you can still get this, but I HAVE GREAT SUCCESS with this no matter when I perform this. And by that I mean year round.
I see it on their website, listed for $289, so I think it is still available. I talk about one of my favorite scary movies of all time. The original Frankenstein movie. I put on a bloody, dirty lab coat and a crazy wig. "I'm going to recreate what Dr. Frankenstein did in the movie," and I go on from there. If you want, you can go to FRIGHTPROPS.COM and get the Thunder and Lightning prop they sell for a creepy, scary, funny routine. |

There are many mummy tricks in addition to the ones you mentioned. Here are a few:
http://www.magic-wagon.com/ProductDetail.asp?id=90 http://www.magic-wagon.com/ProductDetail.asp?id=143&pa=9 http://www.alanwarnermagic.com/allmagic/......mummy-ii Werewolf or even lycan magic is harder to come by. Here's one example: http://www.magic-wagon.com/ProductDetail.asp?id=141 Of course with some handy work and imagination, one could create his or her own prop using an existing effect and method (assuming it's in the public domain). For instance, a routine with multiple aged cabinet card portraits, all of them with a photo of a silhouetted human against a full moon on the back, except for one...the one your spectator chooses...which shows a large misshapen howling wolf. Somehow, your participant knew which person was the werewolf. A relative perhaps? Many other classic routines could be re-tasked to address a werewolf or Frankenstein theme. Both legends have plenty of organic and Gothic imagery to lead the way.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

I have an effect centered around an ancient Kemetic Sah (incorrectly called "mummy"), called "Ausar's Funerary Linen" in my PAPYRUS OF TA-MERI HEKA scroll.
