I was seriously considering to purchase a Countryman E6 Headset at $656CAD ($464US) when a fellow magician recommended the Neewer Unidirectional head mic at a a mere $9.99 plus shipping (total $14.99US).
Frankly, I was flabbergasted! ...I could not believe that a decent head mic set could be purchased at such a ridiculously low price, but he assured me that he has used this specific head mic at hundred of shows for groups large and small and that it performs just as well as the (much) more costly countryman E6. Can anyone else in the know (ie. Michael Messing and Dan McLean Jr. (aka Roadie), plus others, compare the specs between the two head sets and let me know if the Neewer head mic comes anywhere close to the Countryman in terms of sound quality, etc.? See links and info on both head sets, below. Well there are no reviews. So that is a little of a red flag.
It appears to be a knock off of mic made by Sampson. I'm not saying good or bad about that, just pointing it out. On one hand the price is too good to be true. On the other hand the price is so low why not try it out.

Thanks for your input Kevin. I have actually gone ahead and ordered this cheap knock off, since my friend --the one that has used this low-cost model in large and small theatre venues with great success, assures me I will be very satisfied. Plus, as you point out, "...the price is so low... why not try it out?"
Once I receive it, I will try it out, side-by0side against another friend's Countryman E6, asking him to close his eyes and listen to the sounds form both mics, one after the other --with his eyes closed. Then to tell me which has superior sound and to rate just "how" superior that particular head-mic seems to be. Still, I am hoping that a fellow Café member that understands how to compare the specs between each devise, can indicate to me whether or not the Countryman E6 is "technically" far superior to the Neewer E-531B model... or not. I purchased a clip-on Omnidirectional microphone, years ago and it was a big mistake, getting to a show and then spending time trying to find the correct distance and speaker level. The feedback from the speakers was a real problem. The speakers have to be a good distance in front of the performer.

I personally use Countryman H6 directional.
http://youtu.be/1htUrv1zm3Y It's directional because in theory they have better gain before feedback. My partner/assistant is on $15 throw away mic from Amazon, Pyle Pro. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003D2U08E/ She does very little talking and if she shorts it, we throw it away. Pyle Pro does have a bunch of reviews. Most of the negatives are user errors. In case I short the Countryman mic cable I have a $15 spare. The Neewer Mic might have a little bit more background noise and need a little tweak on the mixer compared to a Countryman or DPA. I found a Audio Test below so you can hear its quality, assuming that the Neewer LAV and headset have similar mic elements.. http://youtu.be/Ybmi0QWyp2o However the Countryman or DPA have detachable cables but the Neewers are $10 compared to the higher end models.

The Countryman H6 detachable cables are $60 but have flexible metal lining to enforce it. "Aramid strength members and engineered alloys ensure that our cables provide extreme tensile and flex strength"
