I use this in conjunction with Dan Baines' magnificent Head of Prophecy routine! It has several effects built into it with two reveals.

The scarabs are attached to "Nile River Stones" and act as guides to one location on the board. This location was empty earlier but reveals a secret when all scarabs meet!

I built this over a period of two months. Each location is an actual site in Egypt (the Giza pyramids, Tut's tomb, etc.). The map is based on an actual map of Egypt.

In the early 20th Century, a young Egyptologist discovered a crypt containing the mummy and artifacts of an ancient Egyptian priest. Fearing that his inexperience would lead to his discovery stolen away and claimed by others, he hid his find's location on a map. Shortly thereafter, he was murdered! His English widow, not knowing of the significance of the map had it made into a decorative jewelry box. Shortly thereafter, items went in, and never came out!
