In 2001, a team of explorers from the Surnateum brought back from Ulaanbaatar (Monglia) several shamanistic items.
One of them is a medecine box containing various implements including a Kapala, amulets, bear claw and medecine powders. Until now we could decipher remedies for cough and liver. But we have problems translating the words here under. Anyone can help? |

Hi Curator !
In regard to "alqaxaq" I found that qaxaq means "city/town" in armenian. By following the armenian track , Al lead us to demons in the folklore of the Caucasus, Iran, Central Asia, and Armenia. Als are demons of childbirth, interfering with human reproduction. In Armenian tradition, the als steal the lung, liver and heart of women in childbirth, pregnant women, and women who have just given birth. This echoes the "remedies for liver" that you could decipher. So, does "alqaxaq" mean "the city of al" ??? Always in Armenian, "sye" seems to be an old pronoum that means "thy/thine" And "Cob" is a town in the northern Armenian region of Gugark, but it's maybe just a coincidence. Here is a link I found (in french) talking about relationship between Armenia and Mongolia http://100ans100faits.fr/facts/la-cilici......-siecle/ I hope that help you a bit! |

Nice. Been there three times and the whole place is so magical. Throat singing is the most extraordinary thing I have ever seen, along with the Mongolian vodka and a contortionist all at the same time, I felt very far from home
