Hello, here is a 3 coin production followed by 3 fly. Please tell me what you guys think and if it can be improved. Credits go to Bob Kohler and Kainoa Harbottle for the inspiration along with everyone else associated with 3 fly these days.
side note: not that Kainoa is known for 3 fly as I'm pretty sure he doesn't even like it, but his misbehavin' influenced this. I'm using peace dollars, edged and made soft with a gaff by Roy Kueppers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5v9WVj4WhE |

A better video would help make it more clear.
Beyond that it looked ok. |

The distance from the camera needs to be reduced, as it's almost impossible to see the coins...which is kinda self defeating. I did like the productions, but was a little confused when you vanished the first coin, then stuck your hand in your pocket as there didn't seem to be a reason for that. Hopefully this will be clarified when you re-do the vid.

It was meant to be a joke to retrieve a coin, the production uses 2 coins and a G**f.

Here's the fixed performance. Used a different production to get rid of going to the pocket. The shininess of the coins makes them hard to see without the right lighting.

The tapping on the wood was annoying to begin with, no need, as the coins were clinking just fine.
I believe, you are mixed up on your presentation idea. If I had to tell what I saw, I could only describe it as a guy you did could not make up his mind what he was going to show the audience. I would have much rather seen a slick three fly, coins across, then you could do your antics, of confusion. Not sure if you were actually trying to add humor, or you were just nervous. You have to make up your mind on the words you will use, and stick with it, as in a script. Didn't really care for the hand dipping to obtain a coin, that was distracting, and took the focus off the original focal points, which were the left and right fingertips. Let's just say it was not slick and polished a presentation. Were you trying to show something different, that you created. I did not see anything really new, which I guess is a compliment to your fooling me, if you were. Remember, the presentation is the most important thing in magic. After you found all your coins, and methods, and assembled them, now the real work begins, how you are going to show it to an audience so the understand it. So many guys today, want to change a trick before the truly understand the trick they are changing. You have to learn the original concepts before you know what you are changing and why you want to change them. |

Thank you for the feed back. Yeah It was annoying on film, the reasoning behind it was to get it into my right hand and not just put a coin in my right hand and then pointlessly put it back. That production sequence is actually from Misbehavin, The 3 fly is mine as much as anyone else's with all of the little variations out there, there's a new one every month. I've studied cards mostly with coins here and there. This is my first attempt at a coin routine per say. I've been working on it for like 3 months. 3 fly specifically for over a year and just added edge grip to it, with a production and vanish sequence. I was trying to add "humour", it's definitely not "polished" yet, and has a ways to go but that was the goal of posting it here, was trying to improve up on it further. What were you referring to as the hands dipping down to retrieve a coin? when I did the 1,2,3,4 bit? or the arms going across?
