Just finished watching Braum perform the ENOCH seance. It was absolutely stunning.

I just left Brahm's ENOCH midnight show, it is nearly 2 a.m. now, and he has a substantial crowd STILL around him asking enthusiastic questions even though the show ended well over 45 minutes ago!
Brahm was pitch-perfect, and the combination of his stellar presentation and the incomparable Perkins recording was perhaps the most thoroughly sustained, riveting performance ECSS has ever known. I feel very privileged to have witnessed this fine performance. Well done, chaps! Earlier today Chris Gould appeared via Skype to demonstrate why he is perhaps Bizarre Magic's leading philosopher. I again found myself in complete agreement with him. Extraordinary. So much of wonder this weekend--but the weekend is flying by far too fast. BC

So sad I couldn't come. How was the Skype interview shown?

It is now 2:55am and I'm just settling into bed for the night. What a treat and privilege to be able to attend the midnight seance - Brahm did an amazing job with the help of one Mr. Perkins, who may not have been able to attend this year but definitely made his presence known in the form of Enoch! And no, the good pastor didn't sound a thing like the Perkins we all know and love - such a riveting performance by both of them this evening!
Now off to bed so we can start again tomorrow! Chad |

It was, in point of fact, wonderfully fun and (dare I say it?) really rather heroic. Fundamental showmanship in the best tradition. I had a warm and uncanny encounter with Yitzhak, which I fear ended up being far more impressive to me than to those who only watched. Some genuine magic happened on that stage. Once again deeply impressed by Joseph Daniels who, along with Brahm and Chad, represent Bizarre's strong and upcoming generation of first-class magicians. Seth's turn showed excellent theming, thinking, and genuine promise in his presentation. Witch Doctor Chris also presented a truly fine turn. In all, the first official goat saw some heavy competition, but there is much to be said for confidence, experience, inventiveness and audacity--and Paul Prater carried the day at last. So much else to be said, particularly about a genuine mystery emerging from the weekend, but I must pack up for now. Thank you, Rich, Steven, Vlad, Roger, and everybody involved in making ECSS III the next step up from the previous years (impossible as that might be to believe)--it really was better yet again. Thank you! BC

I wish I could have seen it, but I had my eyes closed the whole time.
The strangest thing happened, while I felt tapping on my back, it also felt like he had his hands on my shoulders. I guess I'll never know what really happened. wink, wink. |

The Family Reunion was Fantastic this year, once again.
It saddens me to be traveling home today, but there is a lot of work to do, as the seeds of next year have been planted. And so my Brother's, until next year. Best Regards, Sebastian Blaaaaaaaaaaaack

This was simply the best weekend ever. I had such a blast meeting everyone, making new friends, and putting faces to Café pals. Breaking out of the "friends and colleagues" audience I'm used to and performing to a banquet room was a huge learning experience, and everyone was so encouraging and friendly--what a great environment to do it. Awesome lectures, amazing workshop with Prof BC, incredible dealer room, and so much more. Thank you so much to the organizers and all who participated for an experience without compare!

A wonderful weekend!
Every performer was fantastic! A very fun time was had by all. Paul Noffsinger killed it! Joe Daniels was absolutely stellar. A top notch performer. Yitzack's performance was magical. I loved it! Paul Prater had the most bizarre act of the weekend for sure! EVERY PERFORMER in the goat competition showed guts, confidence and inspiration. Well done ALL! Baaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Dan Baines for some of the best "war" stories ever. It is true, almost everything sounds cooler with an English accent. Dr. SH for his commitment and being one hell of a nice guy. AND for also providing a true mystery this weekend...... Congrats to all the winners of the raffle and for Mr. Black for taking home my mummified statue. Enjoy! Vince Wilson for some great presentations. PROF BC for his unbelievable generosity. I am sure I forgot someone. But truly it was such a fun time. Best ECSS ever. I don't know how they do it. It was so nice to see the gang again. Thanks to Rich, Steve, Vlad, Lenny and all the ladies behind the scene that make the whole weekend roll along so smoothly. A truly well oiled machine. Come on 2018.. |
