Void – Agus Tjiu

Product description : Moving hole plot have been there for a very long time, I even published a trick called « Flick » which was basically it. But here, you can, at the tip of your finger, move the hole in 3 different spots of the card, make it vanish and reappear on another card. The gimmick is one of the most impressive in terms of working, I've ever seen.

Price and where to buy it : This is sold at $39.95 and you can find it in nearly every Murphy's magic partner !

What you get : You get a regular DVD case with inside a DVD which is for me the drawback of this trick. It is well shot but it is subtitled in english and the sentences are not always perfect making the whole thing a little bit less clear than it should have been. There is not a lot of routines taught inside but you get the basic idea of how the gimmick works. Let's talk about the gimmicks, because you receive 2 gimmicks, one is a regular Jack of Spades card which you can show both sides, the other one is a double backer gimmick. They are the most impressive gimmicks I saw in my magician life and I've seen a lot of gimmicks ! The engineering behind those is crazy, kudos to Agus for making such good quality gimmick ! I'm very very happy with what I received.

The pros and the cons : Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.

THE CONS :
- The DVD is one of the drawback for me, a little bit empty.
- The gimmick is quite thick, maybe 2 or 3 cards thick, which can be a problem if shown by the sides.
- You have to be careful with the lightning, it could expose the gimmick.

THE PROS :
- The gimmicks are so well made ! It is incredibly well made, I love how much care went into it, crazy.
- For each hole you reveal, the rest of the card is exactly like a normal card. Don't knwo if this makes sense but the way the gimmick is made allows the back design to always be the same ! It's something very important for me, which lacked in some releases like Matrix by Mickael Chatelain or Space Time by Tom Elderfield. Agus found a way to make a perfect gimmick and this changes everything for me !
- You get 2 gimmicks ! Meaning you have the option of using the regular card to be able to show the gimmick both at every time of the routine (before, during and after) or using the double backer to do it with a selected and signed card.
- I like the fact you can end the routine without the gimmick because if you move the hole on the card, make it disappear and make it travel on you cardbox or on another card, the gimmick is out of play before the end of the routine. No heat on the gimmick then !
- This is one of the best trick of 2016 for me, it's crazy visual and very well made.

Overall rating : Best trick of 2016 for me for now, 4/4 hearts.
As for the difficulty level, maybe a force and a double lift, you will have to play a little bit with the gimmick to get used to it but really nothing hard, 2/5 stars.

Similar products : Space Time by Tom Elderfield is nearly identical in terms of working but Void is 10 times better in terms of gimmick quality. You can check Matrix and Matrix 2 by Mickael Chatelain too !

Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to play with the red one Smile I do think blue will hide the working better than the red.

Blue is definitely best for all of these types of effects.

Great review. Thank you. I also think the gimmicks are really well made - and very clever! The visuals are excellent. The teaching could have been slightly clearer, but I don't think that's a deal breaker. Full review here: http://www.bicycle-cards.co.uk/2018/01/1......e-magic/

It's not what you do but the way that you do it!
