I am encountering issues downloading/printing several individual pages -- the PDF downloads, but when I try to open the PDF, it says there's an error. This has happened on several different computers and on several different browsers.
Example: August 1998 - every page - error message: "cannot download because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded." I'm using the newest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, and I didn't send it as an e-mail attachment, so how did it get damaged or incorrectly decoded? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Or, sometimes it gets corrupted when uploading it to an FTP site. So, the error message you are getting is just telling you 1 reason why it might be corrupted. Fortunately, you can download free tools which will open a corrupted PDF file: https://www.pdf-online.com/osa/repair.aspx After you have opened the file, you can re-save it and it will then be repaired - you can then open it in Adobe Acrobat; or if you have Windows 10, you can open it in the built-in Win10 PDF reader (you can now convert files to PDF format in Win10 - we are no more reliant on Adobe to do these things!). I have no part in that site. It is simply a program I have personally used before. It works well, and it is free (free stuff is good!). |
