Karl I was not there but I know you did a great job. How? Simple...if they were guessing trap door and the like you did a fantastic job! Congradulations. I am so excited to give this a run. So thank you for sharing this with us.
Devin once again we are on the same page with this. In my minds eye I see it performed as you broke it down above. Good magic to all, Eric |

Karl, Thank you for your review of an actual performance. That carries some weight. I knew you would do well with this effect. Your review should quieten the NAYSAYERS who doubted this would fool anyone. It should also convince them this is as good or better than I claimed. It should also convince those who were on the fence about buying this to take the plunge knowing it is money well spent.

What kind of audience would this be suitable with? Is this a mental trick for adults? Or could this be performed in a family show setting? Stage or Parlor?

It is for family shows and can be done on stage or parlor. Under any conditions except surrounded.

Glad to hear it fooled Karl!
I just may have to try it out as well. Thanks for explaining the psychology behind the light idea! I misunderstood the intention. Looks like a winner Devin! |

Perhaps a good reason for folding the screen.
I believe, if the circumstances are a natural action, folding the screen can be a benefit under perhaps one condition. IF you are one of several performers in the venue, like a variety show or like a magic club show of several magicians, then I think this could be a plus. When it's your turn to perform, the stage crew brings out the screens and sets them up. You come out and do your bit. You finish and take your bow. The stage crew comes out, folds up the screen and carries them off. It is subtle but will settle in the minds of those that think something is still behind the screen and nothing is there. Just a thought... I bought this and am glad I did. |

Just finished reading the file. I would rephrase that poster in more simpler words, sounds confusing to me. Less is more.

A customer of mine suggested using two of the roll-up advertising banners, These roll up and fit into a small base and easily carried. They are available in 62 x 80 and this would be big enough to hide behind. You could have show information on the front of the banner. Of course you would need two. Great idea.

I have and love many of Devin's effects. So, after the spectator walks from behind the screen and goes back to her friends, I assume she spills the beans. No? How can this be avoided?
Thanks Scalito |

Allow magicians to take away freedom of speech from all helpers! Lol. There is no way to stop them. But at least most people will be good sports.
Good magic to all, Eric |

Today Chris Wasshuber said in his Lybrary.com Newsletter that Little House was fantastic and a gem. He said this could be perhaps the best simple illusion he has read in his life! He recommended that even if you are not into performing illusions, you will want to know how this works. If you value Chris' opinion, then check out the illusion secret here:

Well Devin all Chris did was state the truth! I hope people do value Chris' opinion. This is so fantastic and you do gain some nice insight with this effect. I'm taking a show just because of this effect. Its not until November but I would have normally passed on this performance but the size of the stage is perfect for this. I normally like to stay parlour size and this show is slightly bigger but perfect for this. I've recently made some purchases that can be used in a bigger show so in a way this is helping me to branch out. As I have said I really enjoy this illusion and I'm really glad it was finally updated and made available.
Good magic to all, Eric |

Okay Devin, I ordered this and think it has good possibilities for me. What are your feeling about using my own assistants? I still don't like the idea of volunteers 'spilling the beans', especially if I've already done 20 minutes of mentalism without a st**g*, ps or dr. Kind of ruins the show if the audience thinks everyone beforehand was 'in on it'.
Thoughts?....Thanks Scalito. |

Derren Brown did the Gorilla Observation Test, though I don't have little house I get the idea that misdirection plays a big part.
