The Crystal Botania is a great prop for a Gospel presentation. The Plastic case is our empty lives before we asked Christ to come into our lives. You can put thru any examples as money, cars, ect. Then the holy spirit came into our lives. The single flower is seen in the plastic case. Then the final flower blossom production is how our lives have become more full and meaningful.

I "googled" the terms "Living Water in the Bible" - turns out there are at least 39 references in the ESV. So I picked out 6 of them: including John 7:38; John 4:13-15; Revelation 22:17, and Isaiah 44:3 and printed them out with markers on various sized poster boards (you can get a nice precut set of 5 various colored poster boards also at The Dollar Tree for only a $1).
Then using the super large Lota bowl I got from Ash's Magic in Chicago (on N. Western Street- an "old school" store with magic crammed with magic)- I am doing this routine this Sunday in Lighthouse Kids! (about 55 kid Pre-K through 4th grade)- and this routine idea below was kindly suggested by Mr. Ash himself!: I first bought 6 long stem different plastic flowers from The Dollar Store. Anyway, 6 kids will come up- each given a poster card to read with a "Living Water" verse on it and a flower stem. I point out that I the flowers are PLASTIC- that we don't need water. That being said, I notice that my wife put water in the bowl- so I get a container to pour it out commenting we don't need water as the flowers we are using are artificial PLASTIC. Then as we go through each verse, the kid then gives me the flower to put in the vase- and WHOO!- who put that water in there again!?- we don't need it- pour it out- as the flowers are plastic! Repeat 5+ more times(and pour that water out again and again). Using the fake flowers, having the vase, having water in it then annoying have to pour it out again multiple times. It makes some sense using these props (and is funny to the kids to see the the "magician annoyed" or "magician surprised"). And while the individual verses are being read by the older children, it gives the time needed to refill the bowl (which only takes a few seconds). The large lota bowl can be poured out about 10 times- at the end showing the whole bowl/vase full of flowers- and pointing out that we know that God will continue to offer his "Living Water" to ANYONE as many times as there is need for it (or use whatever thoughts you'd like based on the "water" verses previously read). Just a great idea I thought from Ash's Magic Shop and "Mr. Ash"- e.g.- to use fake flowers- and his premise that water is not needed for those fake flowers- yet the bowl keeps filling up with water anyway! Ash dumps the last bit of water on his head- I don't think I will do that. The $30 "made in India" stainless steel Lota Bowl I got at the Ash Magic Shop has an incredibly large enormous load- fills up a full sized water pitcher (in the multiple pourings) quite easily- the plastic pitcher I use to pour the water into seems actually bigger than the entire lota "bowl"/steel vase. Can't wait to get back to Ash's- just a fun crammed full magic store place to visit (and my daughter works and lives nearby in Lincoln Square). Stop in if you are ever visiting Chicago- open 12-6 Monday through Saturday. |
