It’s the magic hands trick where you toss a die into a white tray and it lands on the blue flower-print bottom - to vanish

It just has “magic tray” written on the box.

Wasn't it marketed as Die to Ball?

It was a German trick originally. Howie Schwartzzman was the first guy I saw do this version. At one point, it was called Die Explosion. But I believe there were other names also.

I remember the instruction mentioning spring flowers… which look amazing.
The die is about 3 x3 x 3

Found an ad in a 1990 Hank Lee catalog for an imported version using a 3 inch die. Probally a decent chance given that time period it was the Magic Hands vesion.... Was called Die Tray in the ad.

That’s all that was on the box so I’m guessing that Micheal was inspired and upgraded to a rubics cube.
