Hey, gang!

Some lady at one of my restaurants asked if she could record me the other night and was kind enough to send me the video. I decided to do Duplicity by John Bannon. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/TwBbYp8poSo

Yes- I know my Elmsley's were sloppy. Leave me be. Smile

Thanks! I've been performing weekly at that restaurant for almost two years now, so I have gotten very, very comfortable. It help me be able to just focus on having fun. And we have a LOT of that!!!

Very neat , duplicity is a nice routine and one where the concept of "kicker" endings clearly work!

Really nice. Great performance and they were obviously shocked at the end. You've sold me on Duplicity.

Thanks everyone!

I have always been a huge fan of Bannon's work, and Duplicity it probably my favorite pocket trick of all time. It took me a while to get my pacing right, so as not to lose my spectators or have then get bored in the middle, but it was worth the work because it is soooo much fun to do,l and it floors them! Another big bonus is that it's such a long routine, it can be the only effect you perform for a table, which I think is AWESOME. It leaves them with a very POTENT memory of what you did, and I really like that.

I need to investigate more John Bannon stuff - that is a fantastic routine that is unlike the rest of my repertoire. Where do you recommend to begin with his stuff?

Also, great performance! That really did come across as really fair and you gave just the right pause before the kicker. Loved it!

Thanks!

I think most magicians would tell you to start with Dear Mr. Fantasy because that's probably his most famous book, but honestly, I prefer High Calibre, and that's the one with Duplicity in it. There is just SO MUCH good stuff in that book. So, if you ask me, I'd start there, followed by Destination Zero, and then Dear Mr. Fantasy.

You can at least take comfort in knowing that no matter where you decide to start, Bannon will not disappoint you!

Wow. I had never seen that trick until just now. I'm definitely sold on it. You could see how much the lady enjoyed it. Beautifully done

I would recommend Impossibilia first, then Smoke and Mirrors.
Fantasy and Calibre are both excellent books.
Duplicity is a great trick. Nice Job.
