Did the Archies go platinum?

Don't know but it's not the Archies. Guess again.

OK, since Mindpro appears to be unavailable, I'll jump in:

The band ZZ Top consists of bearded bassist Dusty Hill, bearded guitarist Billy Gibbons, and a non-bearded drummer. What is the clean-shaven guy's name?

Great question, I'll leave thsi for someone else.

I haven't forgotten about this thread. My computer crashed while out on the road, so I'll be back when I get through this.

Big Clue!

But I ain't gonna give any more

Ermagerd, why didn't I think of Alan Parsons?

Did the project actually play a live show? I find that hard to imagine!

One show for a special event. I really liked them in the 80's and never understood why they never toured.

Except for one occasion, the Project never played live during its original incarnation. This was because Woolfson and Parsons saw themselves mainly in the roles of writing and production, and also because of the technical difficulties of reproducing on stage the complex instrumentation used in the studio. In the 1990s things changed with the technology of digital samplers. The one occasion where the band was introduced as "The Alan Parsons Project" in a live performance was at Night of the Proms 1990 (at the time of the group's break-up), featuring all Project regulars except Woolfson who was present but behind the scenes, while Parsons stayed at the mixer except during the last song, where he played acoustic guitar.

Shall we wait for Mindpro or press on?

Ah, the irony of the ZZ Top question.

Let me offer this one that may take things a bit father back than some are knowledgeable. What popular t.v. game show host, who was also as alleged CIA assassin, wrote the #3 Billboard chart hit Palisades Park for Freddy Cannon?

Finally, an easy one. That would be Chuck Barris.

Foolsnobody, I don't know what's happened to Mindpro. But I looked up your answer and it is correct. So why don't you go ahead so we can keep the game going ...

Hey I'm back. Sorry for the absence. Just wrapping up the final week of my spring tour and was dealing with the loss of my computer. So where where we?

OK, so Magnus still needs an answer to his question "On what Rolling Stones song did K.D. Lang get writing credit?" I don't know the answer to that.

And Mindpro needs to confirm that Foolsnobody got his answer right with Chuck Barris. I didn't know that either, but looked it up since Mindpro was temporarily unavailable.

Yes, it was Chuck Barris, correct. As for KD Lang, that's a tough one. I would guess My Baby? If I remember correctly, but she didn't actually write or record it with them, correct? I remember it being something to that affect.

Close enough. Here's the Stones

Listen at least until the chorus "anybody seen my baby..."

Here's kd

Apparently the credit was preemptive. Somebody pointed out the similarity before the album was released, and credit for kd was hastily arranged.

Similar to Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys adding Chuck Berry as a credit to what song?
