I've just a confirmation from Kyle , that the Magma's new unit now charges with the indication as the blinking red light , once it finished charging , the light will die down and not turn to solid red . Phew !
So I sat down and finished the instructions , altogether I must say , this is actually much better than I expected . The gimmick is really nicely constructed , the four lights is bright enough to flash through my fingers , creating the smudge of red light over my fingers very clearly . The gimmick though is too big for me , I've to trim it down a little . The one hour long instruction covers everything from basic to a few ideas that can be used . I'm planning to use this in conjunction with Mystery Deck , which will revolve around the theme with energy as red light transposes . Will be testing it out on my gig very soon and I'm sure it'll play out well . As far as the gimmick applies , it's something many is familiar with , yet I don't see a problem in this case since Kyle covers everything you need to know to get into and get out of the situation , which I feel is well justified , of course if you're wearing glasses , the showing is slightly easier . The gimmick does function like a normal something , which would aid in vanishes or switches . This one in particular is designed such that your hands can be flat when even with the gimmick still inside , such a nice touch . It's worth mentioning that through playing with the gimmick , the faint green and red indicators can be spotted clearly if you were to turn the unit over , if you were to look at it from the top / inside , the black " tape " blocks the indicators up a little . Each light has three separate lights inside there , which makes up 12 ultra bright light shining through your fingers . I've just tried it outside , and the light seems to pass through very nicely as well , a little faint than when it's performed in the room but still visible to create a moment . The light will last 10 seconds , it takes two seconds to light up and diminish , which takes the lighting to 6 seconds , just the right time to capture the moment where the magic is happening . I've almost nothing to complain for the gimmick except that the charging system was different from the one taught in the video , the other expects of the gimmick is perfect . Remember to watch the instructions though before you first mess with the gimmick , and if you do want to trim the gimmick , trim just a little by little , don't go too far or else the gimmick won't be able to stay in your hands when your hands opens flat . Other than that , super awesome product , kudos to Kyle for releasing this .

Hello All,
I got this today and here is a quick review. It is very well made and a very clever gimmick indeed. It is a bit too big for my hand but it blends in very well. The light is very hard to see if there is much light in the room. It is uncomfortable when you make a closed fist however I am still learning how to hold it. Seems very well built and you can tell a lot of hard work has gone into the design. The video is great and I learned a few things from it as well. My next project is to figure out some type of pull/ditch for the device. My Basic effect: I bring my hands cupped together to the right side of my lower chest. My hands start smoking then a warm glow becomes brighter as I slowly move my hands forward and start to slightly open them a fireball shoots across the room and then I bring my hands back to my right about chest level the glow has faded and all that is left is smoke. This looks almost like movie style special effects in person and for me was worth the cost of everything to make it happen. It looks so good already and after some more practice I will preform it for some people at night. The hook up: Magma is in my right hand with smoke attached to sleeve. "Pyro / any flash gun" is attached to left wrist / palmed in left hand. The clean up is easy the only thing I need to ditch is the magma gimmick perhaps I can find a way to hook it to my **** when I bring my hands back to my chest. The hook up also makes it hard to know exactly where the light is coming from as you have both hands cupped together forming an eerie glow. I cant really rate this device as it has tons of things it can be used for. I will buy another one if this one ever die's and I am very happy with my purchase. -Altrez |

Can you show the hands completely empty to spectators after the light immediately fades?

Qwerty71,
If you would never use a finger palm or a Sanada Gimmick this trick may not be for you. Many performers CAN conceal something in the hand and fool people. A casual attitude and good routining will go a long way to solving this problem. However if you are performing a one-off trick for a group of friends it is much tougher. |

Title: Magma
Creator: Kyle Marlett Publisher: Murphy's Magic Supplies MSRP: $ 60 Skill Level: all DVD Run time: 1 hour 4 min Type of effect: Hidden utility Manufacturer's Write Up: The gimmick is practically invisible in performance and can provide over 100 uses before it will require a USB recharge. Highly durable and expertly manufactured, your Magma gimmick will handle years of repeated use. Turn your fist into a furnace Magma is extremely easy to use and is everything you could wish for to inject a mutant-ability moment into your magic. FEATURES: - Makes your fist light up to look molten hot - Add extra punch to coin bends, metal bending, PK magic and many more - Add smoke to Magma and really heat things up - Durable, self-working gimmick does everything for you - One size fits all - Easy to learn, easy to do - USB rechargeable - No reset, Magma is ready to go every time - No Thumb Tips - Perform Sleeveless How accurate is the ad copy? no deception What's in the box? Gimmick, USB cable and download code Key points: How are the production values: Murphy's Magic makes great videos - this is well cut, well shot, well mic'd and with no distracting music or environments. Is it well made: this is very well made on par with other well known light up Is it well taught: Kyle gives you over an hour of teaching for a gimmick that is easy to learn. You will also get some great magic: a coin bend, a straw melt, a nail bend and a trick with a lighter. My thoughts (what I personally liked/disliked): I liked it's functionality, but I didn't love the "open hands" / "proof" hand pose. Storage? Does it "pack flat?" packs the same as a t.t. Does it "play big?" combine this with your favorite coin bend or smoke device and you'll have everything you need to start your own religion Difficulty / Skill level required: super easy - after watching a few minutes I was able to do it right away How much arts and crafts are involved? you "might" have to size it to fit your hands, but I didn't have to How practical is this in the real world? (can it really be done?) this is a utility that should be used in connection with another effect. But it's just easy to use in the real world as a reel, a t.t. or something equivalent. Overall score: let's toss out the traditional score of 1-10 and make this something that we all can appreciate and understand. I just thought that maybe one can take a red light bulb , cover it with your fist , and use MAGMA to light it up . May be something fun to try ~

Received my Magma gimmick today. Quality, well thought out design. USB charge/recharge is a plus. Bright lights. I have a quartz crystal routine, that I used with D'lite. This gimmick was what I was looking for and has now added an extra magical element to my routine. Easy to conceal. Well worth considering. Very satisfied.

Received mine today but it doesn't seem to have the led indicator while charging.. It doesn't work neither when I turn it on.
Edit : I changed the charging wire which come with it and it seems that the one provided with Magma doesn't work for me But I've got thousands at home so it's not a problem.

Product description : Tired of all those card tricks ? Well, this may be for you ! How about being able to produce a red glow light inside your closed fist and being able to show it empty afterward ? But using it just like that may be a little bit akward, use it to enhance a transformation, a bending routine or something like that.
Price and where to buy it : This is sold at $60 and you can find it in nearly every Murphy's magic « partner » shop ! What you get : You get a small cardboard box with the gimmick inside, it's a gimmick most of us know but it was completely customised to be able to perform Magma. I do this lasting a long time and since it's USB rechargeable (the USB cable comes with it), no need to buy batteries ! I do like the gimmick, it's well made. You also get a link to watch the online instructions, they're really well shot and you get to learn everything about this little gimmick. I can imagine the time and the cost it was to develop this idea. Not disappointed by the gimmick at all. Teaser : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rj68XCwFys The pros and the cons : Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end. THE CONS : - My major con with it is that I don't think this is an effect by itself. And considering the size and the type of the gimmick, it's hard to use the hand in which the gimmick is. - Electronics can die prematurely, so you must be careful with the gimmick. - The color of the gimmick may not match for you, I don't think it's an issue because, like a TT, this should be invisible anyway. THE PROS : - It's rather easy to do, I was quite happy by the result when I first took it in my hand, it looks cool. - It's like smoke in your hands, this is the kind of effect you use to enhance something else. I've been very surprised by the reactions this gets ! People are not expecting at all that you will be producing a red glow of light in your hands. - I do think it will add something to your existing routine. Because, for a coin bend for example, there is no visual clue that something is happening. With the red light, people will maybe think your hand is getting hot or something like that, I really like the fact you can this as another step of the comprehension and the visual of an effect. - It's really well made and should last a long time. The USB cable which come with it didn't work but since the plug is an universal one, you should have a cable at home. - The light is quite strong, even in day light, you can still see the red coming out from your hand. I do think that it's better when the light is less strong, because you can really focus and see that the fingers are glowing. Overall rating : If you like what you see, that you don't mind having a gimmick in your hand, this is good ! It's not a bad product but not something I would use often, 3/4 hearts. As for the difficulty level, it's almost self working but you have to master a little bit the gimmick, shouldn't take that long, 2/5 stars. Similar products : Well, as for a glow of light in your hand, this is the first product I know which will allow you to do that ! You have plenty of smoke gimmicks out there if you want to combine light and smoke. Thanks to Murphy's for sending me this product !
