Also some the TED talks on story telling are very great to check out. They have one with the president of PIXAR. I suspect a lot of people interested in magic and storytelling already know about the TED talks.

For many people the bible is "Story" by Robert McKee - but the Pixar list is interesting and a heck of a lot easier to digest.

Not that the Pixar people said they were surprised their list had had such a success, when really it was a lot more like suggestions than rules or even guide lines.
Still, it's an excellent template IMHO, more than the overused (hence boring), strictly formatted, "Save the Cat"...
