Hocus Pocus has this on pre-order. Looks quite fun, except for the clean up afterwards.

Haha! I like it!
I have a Jumbo Surprise Wand that I bought from David Ginn back in the 1990s. It holds 5 spring snakes, and is a 42" wand. I've used mine again and again in hundreds of shows, with great reactions. David hasn't had his version of the Jumbo Snake Wand in stock for years. Plus this one has the nice kicker finish. - Donald

The kicker finish in Louie Foxx's prop also made me think of Mike Bent's Snakeless Snake Can. If you know the routine, you have a can that people expect spring snakes to come out of, but they don't come out initially. Later on, they pop out. So, his prop has a way of delaying the release until you're ready, even though you've removed the lid.

This idea had been in a notebook of mine for about a decade after seeing a picture of David Ginn with his jumbo snake wand. I finally made one for last summers library tours and after the initial refinements on the wand and building a second one with those changes early last summer I'm still using the same (second) wand. The wand is a cardboard base, that's coated in white laminate for the tips and black plastic for the middle.
This wand did a last years summer of library and fair shows in addition to a 10 week school assembly tour (3 shows a day) in the winter and it's back in the show this summer. So in my (biased) opinion it's made to last. One time I thought I put it in the car, it fell out and rolled under my car (an SUV) and I didn't see it. When I drove away I drove my SUV over it and after feeling that I drove over something I got out to discover it was the wand...it's still working like a champ! Louie Foxx |

Have pre ordered mine through Hocus Pocus.
For Louie, am curious after your show can you reset them as you are gathering all your props or do you just toss the snakes in a plastic bag to be reset later? |

Steve,
I reset before I leave the venue. It's pretty quick to reset once you've done it a few times. I meant to time myself today, but forgot. If I had to guess I probably reset in about 2 minutes, I'll try to remember to time myself tomorrow. Louie |

I timed myself putting the snakes back in the wand and it took 1 minute 10.53 seconds. I think it takes longer to reset a six card repeat than the Snake Wand!

Probably the "first" of the the "snake" props (other than the S.S. ADAMS PEANUT BRITTLE CAN) was the COMEDY BALLOON PUMP, put out by Magic Inc. (made by Jim Sommers) in 1965. The Adams can was the basic prop. I bought one, and have been using it since 1965!
Doing three or more school shows a day, the first thing I did was sew the three snakes together, to make one snake. I didn't want the snake(s) to get near the audience. It would slow the tempo of the show, if I had to stop and get the snakes back from kids who grabbed one. I made sure the one long snake was shot straight up in the air. No kid could get hit in the eye! --And, the snake was visible to those in the back row, too. Then, to eliminate reset time, after the program, I reloaded the snake DURING the show. I got LAUGHS, reloading the snake, and APPLAUSE when it finally got re loaded! I did the routine in my lecture. It was always a hit. When Inc. stopped making them, Jay OK's my having them made. I had a thousand dollars worth of the pumps, made, and, sold them all.

I own one of those. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djbxgDR4ATw It's a different trick / gag from Louie Foxx's Snake Wand Surprise (and a very different price). In North America, many magic dealers sell the Wand to Snake prop (Hocus Pocus sells the Comedy Wand to Snake, as well as Louie's Snake Wand Surprise). Tommy James even sells a version where the spring snake looks like a wand. So, the effect is the wand "grows". https://www.tommyjamesmagic.com/store/in......uctId=43 - Donald

Then there is the Can-o-Wands by Dick Barry. I find that the wands get caught up in the lip of the plastic can where the lid screws, so they don't come out smoothly.
I also have one the Dick Oslund Comedy Balloon Pumps. It has the same problem. He told me it helps delay the snake but it always looks like I mess it up.( I'm not as good as Dick Oslund) A friend(Irwin) gave me one that came from an estate(Kogel). It was made out of a tin can that is painted and the lid screws on. The inside is smooth and the snake comes out perfect every time. So I use the Beautiful snake I got with the Oslund Pump in the Metal Pump Can I got from Kogel. And it works great. I also use Dicks routine where you load the snake back during the routine. Kids want you to do it over and over! I go to each section of the audience( the kids are sitting on the floor) and I control it hi over their heads or in their general direction. I don't let the snake leave my hands. The back end of the cloth snake actually got caught in the metal can on a screw that holds the pump handle, so now I am sure it will not get away from me! I really like Louie's wand. It is on my wish list. ACE

I pre-ordered mine from Hocus-Pocus when it was first announced and use it sparingly due to the chaos it can cause. The kids love this thing and just like the demo video, it will bring all kinds of laughter. Just be mindful of the direction and distance to your audience when you let it loose. I was to close one time and it almost caused a stampede of kids trying to grab snakes.
