Thinnest that I have found (and used in making various card gaffs) are 1/32 thick. There are probably more out there (and let me know if you find any). My source is K&J Magnets. No min order and I have made / experimented many items with stuff they offer - from holdouts in my clothing to "pen thru dollar" with different pens.

I don't know for sure but I assume the gaffer making a split will insert the magnet and then mill the whole thing down. That just seems like the easiest way to do it.

I have disc magnets I purchased from Supermagnetman that are 0.5mm thick. Some 20mm diameter and some are 15mm. (FYI, 0.5mm = 0.02") Not quite as thin as those that Shin Lim is selling, but pretty darn thin.

Just a word of warning here, people.. Keep your credit cards away from magnets! Obvious advice, I hear you say.. But I got caught.. landed me in a LOAD OF TROUBLE... Unable to use my credit cards.. !!!! no gas for car... How to buy food?
It's caused me all sorts of problems...

Shouldn't magnets only affect the magnetic stripe? I would think the chip and NFC (tap to pay) would be unaffected
