Business man or not, how do you go from your Sept 1 post to this insane rant. Not being a good thread for Gregg seems to be becoming a mission for some. Cancel your orders and get your money and sanity back. Its funny how tempers are guided and fueled to new heights in such a short time. Anyone this upset should get there money back and stop assassinating peoples character, it doesn't help the situation, you or anyone. And apparently NEVER NEVER PREORDER AGAIN.

Now Michael, do YOU agree with me that we were told it would be ready by August 1st? That the ONLY thing he was waiting on was customized stickers to be shipped to him?

Was it told to us it would be ready Aug 1st? Yes or no? Waiting Michael ....
Was it sent August 1st? Yes or no? Waiting Michael ...

Just woke up after chilling with family and friends with a nice, home-made Cabernet in my hands ... some nice smoked pork butt and a bonfire. Yes, there are more important things in the world then a silly magic trick Smile and I know that.

Michael, to answer your questions (which I'll point out you didn't seem to answer mine above--seems I'm still waiting LOL)

What changed since Sept 1? Not much aside from me taking a bit more time to think about the delay, ALSO the offer from someone to take it off my hands. I'm in. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

How many tricks have I manufactured? NONE. I'm not a creator of tricks. I'm a presenter/performer. I would never pass myself off as an inventor. It's not my forte. I would make absolutely no sense for me to do so. But, I'm pretty good at themeing shows: you know, putting together other tricks and routines with patter to get across a common point. So, I see this as a bit like it wouldn't make any sense for me to sell a 'Halloween Themed' Show without having all the necessary props, routine, patter and rehearsal before selling it to my clients. But I do, and they book it. Then I tell them after it's been booked and a deposit has been sent that I can't do this part...or this party and this because my head chopper and doll house didn't get delivered ... and my one-way forcing deck is on back order because of a delay BUT all my stuff should be in by November 13th, I'll happily do the show for you then.

Everyone take a deep breath. Rubicon will be here.....things happen...delays etc. Its going to be worth the wait...IN the mean time you can be learning how to solve the cube....not a deal breaker but it sure will come in handy that is a given. I have been doing cube effects throughout the years and never knew how to solve. Taking it apart is a pain in the butt...just spend the time and it is a big ego boast once you can do it. Especially if you are going from show to show.

I've been able to solve the cube since 1983. Back then everyone was mega impressed. I'm afraid the cube just does not hold the same fascination now than it did then. It's kinda seen as an old relic nowadays.

So...

For this amount of money

When the cube is magically solved [one handed] can you show all 6 sides [?] solved

I think from the video you can

I guess that's what you are paying for

As only being able to show 5 sides - I could make for people ... $300 can deliver it by mid sept

Prsonally I think the cube has gone from being popular/everywhere, to being old and stale, and now onto being far enough away [in time] from it's 'craze' heyday to being interesting to bring out and perform with

I can imagine a routine in the mid 90's feeling like you hadn't changed your act in a decade

But a young magician doing this now, could seem fresh

Never pre ordered an effect before in my life, but something allured me to this one.

Must have been the early bird discount, or maybe even the slightly "higher price" that meant that it will hopefully stay out of the hands of the young casual crowd (...at least that is, until the knock offs unfortunately come out :/). Greg's name doesn't hurt it either, as there's a pretty solid and reputable (IMHO) track record there.

Must admit, I was a little bit disapointed that Greg wasn't there to demo it to us at Magic Live in Vegas last month but what can you do. Conflicting schedule I guess. Still, from what I saw whenever I walked past the table it seemed to be selling like hotcakes regardless and always had a good amount of interest form onloookers looking at the Video Trailer which was on loop.

I am pretty excited for it, but adding everything together, I don't think we will be getting it till around October / November at the earliest, which is a bit of a shame as I would have liked to have had the time to have it for this Christmas season gigs.

Rubik's cube popularity has been dead since the 80s but has not stopped the amazement with it. Ask Steve B. or better yet, look at the reactions and success he had with it on AGT and Fool Us. Greg has been using it for 10 years and it is the highlight of his act.

I have been having fun playing with it and solving it and only learned it because I needed it for Rubicon (clean up and reset).

As long as it is a high quality product (sure it will be), the wait is a minor nuisance to me. Smile

So that's his attitude, right?

Some of us should calm the !@#$ down?

It's our fault, not his, right?

Michael, since you apparently are Greg's mouthpiece now, please explain one thing to me and then I'll shut up.

How did a manufacturing problem occur AFTER the only thing missing was the stickers?

I know that I am only an egg, but I can't figure that one out.

As far as shipping, the only thing missing right now are the customized stickers, which are tracked to be here on July 21st and easily shipped out by August 1st.

I'm still betting on no shipment this month.

Something else will come up.

I am a mentalist, after all.

Another prediction:

This thread gets locked soon.

Stickers must have got lost in the post

What a lame excuse!

Well done to Jack for showing his true colours!

Agreed! ...The product will be shipped out when it's ready and none to soon.

Be sure to remember page 16 of this thread as that will be where the reviews and 'product in hand' discussion will begin! Smile
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

Cube3 has great teaching, took me about 2 weeks to get it down, or failing that just go on youtube.

Just purchase a regular rubics cube, they come with instructions on how to solve it. With a little practice you will be able to solve it in no time.

Yeah took me less then a week, actually a few days to solve. You will get frustrated and want to quit. Just keep at it. Using You Tube how to videos. I find the cube easier now then the Pyraminix. Solving will help with reset later on when Rubicon stickers arrive.

What's the difference between cube 3 and Rubicon or do I have to read 13 pages of posts? Thanks

Cube 3 -- takes practice and skill... longer brilliant routine

Rubicon -- gimmicked shorter routine -- will take considerably less practice and skill

Both are great
