Hi there! I would like to create a fully impromptu close-up set of effect with rubber bands. I already seeked out Marcus Eddie's Stairway. Any other recommendations? Thanks!

I like Melting Point by Casshan Wallace.
http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/3353 It'll take some practice to get into but it is strong. If you straighten your index fingers at the angle of a pitched roof to make the rubber band take the shape of a a large square, it will not look like you are flipping off the audience LOL. -Mary Mowder |

Crazy Man's Handcuffs, followed by Crazy Man's with a twist, then do snapped and finally shoot the rubber band up your nose. Seriously, do the last bit, even adults love it, unless it is not in your character.
The Gift by Joe Reindfleisch is pretty good as well.

Rubber Thruhand by Vogt and Hauss. Impromptu, one band, both sides of your hand are freely shown, several phases including a slow motion penetration. Hauss teaches it on his Murphy Magic lecture which is available for 7-8 dollars on DVD.

See a lot of my favorites- Harlan and Rindfleish.
Touch by Hanson Chen is great too. I do that after Rubber thru Hand. Show it penetrating my hand one finger at a time then ask if they want to know what that feels like. Then I do Touch. |

Otherwise check out http://www.rubberbandmagic.com/ There are trailers for all the effects and there are various artists.

Jumper by Joe Rindfleisch is a phenomenal routine.
http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S11308 It's a standard staple of my Close-Up Rubberband Act. It's also very good to have it as a back up for the rare occasions your band brakes during performance. Very ironic that Joe now sells rubberbands that are specially treated to prevent braking. |
