Review:
I love this peek wallet! It is something that you will need to make that goes in your regular wallet. It also requires a specific feature be present in your wallet, but most wallets have this feature. Every single wallet that I have owned in the last two decades has this feature. It involves a bit of "arts and crafts", but Tom explains how to make it very well. I have been a big fan of Menny Lindenfelds Blind Man's Wallet. However, the gimmick is built into the wallet and you can't just use your own regular wallet. Tom's gimmick is similar, but it is built into a regular wallet. I just love being able to use a regular wallet for something so astonishingly magical! My everyday wallet cost me $10 and it has a feature that makes the wallet similar to Shawn Farquhar's C2W wallet, it has a coin pouch built in, and now it has Tom's Peek wallet built in as well. My little ten buck wallet is becoming one of my most valuable magic tools! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS! KJ |

All,
This is a simple, but clever, modification that can turn most wallets into a billet peeking wallet. The fact that this works for a folded business card is a lovely extra bit of business for what is a hidden in plain sight solution to the (age-old ?) need to peek a hidden bit of information, I don't see how anyone using a "real" wallet could or would not make use of this. It will take a little "arts and crafts" that surely anyone could do to turn your folding wallet info an information stealing weapon. I can't think of any downside except that you don't want to exert any effort at all in creating your own tools. Other than that, this idea will allow anyone to make use of their current or soon to purchase wallet. This is a great solution that has no real drawbacks. The only people who may not see value here, at the present time, are those who use a gimmicked wallet as their everyday wallet. And these people will want to make use of this for their next wallet. Great thinking and a simple solution to a common need. Highly recommended! |

Sounds intriguing. I am interested to adapt this to my wallet, but it sounds like this may not work on all wallets. I have a simple billfold wallet with some credit card slots on each side - no id window. Can someone tell me if this will work with my wallet?
Feel free to pm me. Thank you. |

Sound very interesting. I have two wallets (one is gimmicked : the Hwallet), both are billfold wallets. I would like to know if the modification works with that kind of wallets ?

The thinking behind this gimmick is very clever and neat. It does require some "arts and crafts" to construct, but if you like the idea of peeking a folded card, then it´s worth it.
The video should have been shot a little closer to the wallet. Sometimes it was a bit tricky to see what´s going on, but I watched it just once. Well done! |

Sounds like Tom is trying to make it as good as he can before he put's it up for sale. The people reviewing it, will help him to tweak it to perfection.
A brilliant idea, more retailers should do this. |

EZrhythm, 'twas a terrible mutiny, there's nothing I could have done, so I jumped ship.
The Baldini, yeah, that's about what I'm up to. So far I've gotten a couple suggestions about re-positioning the camera/zooming in, to make it easier to see the construction. It will be re-recorded, so that's not a big deal. Mostly, I wanted to see if this was something people want to have and to hold, to love and to cherish, till death do they part, etc. etc.... And so far, response has been pretty good. There are a couple stipulations about what kind of wallet will work, but fortunately, almost all wallets fit these stipulations. But for those few wallets that won't work, I AM working on an alternative method - same concept, different construction. I'll be unavailable for the next 11 days, so if anyone has any questions, I'll get back to you after August 22nd. In Magic, Tom Phoenix |

Being not one of the lucky to get a review copy and reading the first reviews, I am really looking forward to see this on the market.

Though I was late to the party I was fortunate enough to receive a review copy and I'm very glad I did. A bit of art & craft certainly but nothing to difficult and it's so rewarding to make your own not too mention the savings! Thanks Tom

This is brilliant for so many reasons. First and foremost, you convert the wallet you already own into what you need. Second, it's a folded peek! Awesome touch, seriously. The teaching is mostly clear, although as he said he will be re-recording it for closer viewing, although I didn't have much trouble myself as any question I was about to ask he covered a minute after I wondered.
It's fantastic for what it is, which is a folded peek that is stealthy and fast. Most people interested in this will probably have quite a few methods of peeking they already like (and probably a wallet or two, like me). So the thing that sets this apart is the adaption to your own wallet. His thinking is clever and that's almost what I admire most as you can tell he's put the time into the details for crafting it to function. As all routines of this flavor do, it will require justification inherent to any wallet peek (putting it in, taking it back out). But it's a wallet peek, that's the idea. It's also a faster peek in that if you take too long, it will be obvious you're looking as this doesn't lend itself to looking ordinary if left set for peeking (I don't know of any wallets that do unless you hide an outlaw behind something for example after you've put it away). The peek comes as you remove or put aside/dismiss the wallet having folded it back up. I'm looking forward to seeing how it operates day-to-day as my regular wallet with the adjustment. I can't see anything wrong with it as far as usability at all. It's just so nice to have it available to me now as a magic option for peeking. Overall? Very nice. The test is, will I use it? Absolutely. And if you're like me, it will pass the wife test because although she knows I'm peeking somehow, she hasn't a clue when because she knows my wallet is the "non-magic" one. I hope he makes it widely available so others can appreciate it. Awesome! EDIT to add: The time for construction is about 20 minutes if you're careful. |

I watched the download and wow!!! I am very impressed with the great thinking behind this. It really works with a lot of the standard wallets. Thee idea is simple. It is effective. And it gets the job done.
The fact that the billet can be folded may seem overkill to some. It was with the Blind Man's but here it is different and makes more sense. The peek is great and happens with proper misdirection. In a nutshell, it happens at the point when it is least expected. There is on fumbling, no need to go back to the wallet, or more importantly, everything looks natural. Yes, there are many great wallets out there (my preference goes to the seer wallet) but that costs like 200 dollars and is not easily available. This one will probably work with wallet one already uses. And it costs nothing! The only con for me is that it requires DIY and I am not very good at it. It is not hard an it is well worth the time to get this great freebie with the wallet that everyone has seen before (thus no funny business expectations). I commend Tom on the clear instructions, the great idea, and it is something that I will play with despite me staying clear of DIY stuff. I am really looking forward to see how this project moves forward but it is really something to be on the lookout for. Great job Tom! |

Wow, thank you everyone for your thoughts on this!
The wallet will be produced with Penguin Magic, and will likely be publicly available in about 2 months. I know that's vague, but this will be a physical product, so there is the issue of sourcing materials in bulk. I am working on a way to make this concept applicable to ANY wallet. If I can get it figured out, road-tested, tweaked, tested more, and perfected over the course of 2 months, then that will be included in the project as well. Otherwise, I will make that available separately (but still free for previous buyers). In the meantime, I am looking for a few reviewers for a different little routine I came up with, cheekily called: "The Best Trick of the Year, So Far". Let me know if you're interested. Tom Phoenix |

I to got a review copy but misunderstood Tom as I thought he wanted for us to wait and post our thoughts. Sorry! Anyway......I really like this idea. At first when Tom laid out what was needed to construct the gimmick, I thought to myself, "Oh, this is seems like its going to be a pain". But after watching the explanation I was pleasantly surprised. I do not like to do arts and crafts but the construction of this gimmick is not difficult and looks to be painless, lol.
I do really like the concept and mechanics of the gimmick in retrieving the information. It comes at a totally natural moment. There is nothing you need to do that is unnatural when the time comes to get the peek. I find this to be a huge benefit. Not to mention you do not need to purchase an expensive wallet. Another big plus! And I think one the nicest features is being able to peek a folded card/billet! Love it! As others have stated, Tom does a very good job in explaining everything. I definitely will be putting this together! Great idea and creation Tom! RNK

This entire post is directed at one company, everyone else can ignore it.
Hey Penguin Magic, I know you guys are monitoring this thread. If you want in on this project, then you're going to have to improve communication. I sent Shaun an email 2 weeks ago and a FB message last week, and haven't heard anything back. With any other email I've sent him, the response time is no more than a couple days, but when I ask about the wallet status, it takes a couple emails, a couple phone messages, and a couple weeks to get any kind of response. I'm posting this in a public place because I know it will get your attention. The last time we had a communication problem, I had sent you multiple emails, with no response for weeks - then I started this thread... and I got a phone call the next morning. Tomorrow morning, I am booked until noon, CDT. It's entirely okay if you haven't gotten to this project yet, or have been busy with other stuff, etc. But I need to be kept in the loop, and this isn't the first time there's been a problem in communication about this project. For everyone else reading this, I apologize for the little rant, but this seems to be the only way to catch Penguin's eye. Also, if I release this with Penguin, I only get 20% of the profits (not counting manufacturing costs, so it's probably more like 15%). If I'm giving them 80% of my creation, then you would think creator-service might be a little better. I could (and still might) release this myself, but I want it to be done professionally, which is why I went to the professionals. Tom Phoenix |
