It is very similar, produced by the "Zauberzentrale München" in Germany (ZZM). I have both and can compare and can tell you that I do not have a favorite . Both do the same, at the end it is what and how you do with it or use it. You certainly don't need both. Jan

See, the pad (whichever you use...)is a mere tool. What you make out of it (or better with it within a routine) is really up to your fantasy and creativity. But I like to give you a good hint: E. g. in Paul Hallas´book "Magic From The Overground" you find a superb routine, called "A Mental Miracle" which plays great for stand up and/or stage. BTW, all books by Paul are really worth reading and studying. Jan

I had the Satori pad and didn't like it.
I now use an ungimmicked pad idea by Simon Lovell

I have been researching "Add A Number" pads for a project I am working on...Steven's Magic how has the Super Mento Pad IN STOCK! On the web it shows it as "out of stock" so you have to call them...

Just looked again, you're right Cody, got mine finally. Would like a Kozar, but if Jan enjoys either, that's good enough for me.
Cody, will this be something for the magic public? |

I actually very much disliked the super mento. I had the Kozar and it was good, but the refills were a pain. I actually prefer this one. Oz Pearlman tipped in his lecture years ago, and I just never noticed it.
This one is side folding which is much easier to prevent the "locking" before you want it to lock. It also refills with 3x5 sticky notes, so very easy to refill. Genuine leather and to refill you just stick them on, so it takes 2 seconds without the need to take anything apart. It's great and also has a small pocket on the left side to hold cash if you wanted to switch the bill at the same time as the numbers for a traditional add a number routine. https://www.el-duco.se/en/articles/2.351......ook-plus Additional, for another post it add a number pad, this is fantastic. I wouldn't say it could be used completely hands off, but it is very clean and also has a small pocket for switch a bill as well. It's the JJ Notebook. https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/1619 |

Would the Super Mento Pad, or the El Duco pad work for Colins Q&A esque routine from his Penguin Lecture? I have wanted to put something similar into my act but the pad he used is no longer available.

Both would ????
The el duco has the advantages I listed above but any hands off “locking” pad would work. The Jj pad would not in this case |

As far that one, is there any chance of the spectator noticing a second interior even though it locks? I just know some z folds or himbers can telegraph something fishy when viewed a certain way hinting at the method.
