If I'm using a 4MP camera with a 256MB card, how many photos can I fit?
Is it just 256/4? Thanks for your help!

It depends on a lot. Compression, size you take it at, if it's an uncompressed tif, etc.
Can't really say. However, if you have a compact flash card, check into buying one of the MP3 players that uses the CF microdrive cards. You can get a 4gig compact flash card for about $150 there. |

You can see the file size on your computer.

I get around 160 at high res and fine setting on a 256MB card.

It depends on the image size and compression rate. With some cameras you don't have any compression and the image is stored in either TIFF or RAW format.
My Canon G5 (5mp)has a 256MB card and with the largest resolution and minimun compression its about 99 pics per card. My other cam has 11, 1 MP and with that a microdrive is a must.
