I heard that 2.0 is easier to do, and less memory work than 1.0.

Ok but is it the same effect? Little confused?

If you watch his Penn and Teller performance of 1.0 you will see it's a completely different effect .

Pharaoh? Anyone? Is it required to do 2.0 like it is for 1.0?

Given you could do this with half or even a third of a deck, you could get two or even three performances out of a deck. I don't think you even need to start with a full deck. I think the effect would be just as powerful if you just had a half or third of a deck and present it as something special you demonstrate when you have a partial deck lying around. People are used to you having cards signed and torn, so it seems very reasonable that you would have a bunch of partial decks lying around. I performed it this way a couple times and it came off even more impressive given it was impossible to even know which cards were even in the partial deck. KJ |

I also really like Ricks suggestion to present this as something "special", given you are destroying a deck or partial deck. I tell people that I wear out decks as a magician and only every once in a while do I have an old or partial deck that I am about to throw out. Instead of throwing it out, I can use this for my most challenging mental feat ever. I save it for the end because it is so "mentally taxing". By building up the anticipation, it elevates the trick to a new level.

Excellent trick at a bargain price. It reminds me of Eddie Joseph's "Staggered" that I used to performed back in the 70's, along with his also-great "Premonition".

I buy Bicycles or whatever brand of playing cards off the shelf. I ask a spec to tell me when to stop tearing - speeds up the effect. I toss all the cards away and figure it is the cost of my reputation.

My approach is have one of them shuffle the deck real good. Then have the other person cut the deck into two piles making them as even as possible. Then I ask them to choose a pile to use. I put the other pile away. This way I'm only wasting 1/2 the deck. The next time I do the effect I pour out the 1/2 deck and just say these are some leftover cards and you'll see in a moment why I use old cards. Works for me.

This was SO good. I am rarely blown away by anything, but this was a no-brainer. For a believable card table memory demo, this is astounding. I am stunned that it works. One of the best purchases of the year for me.
