Hi Café!

I am usually know the credits for all my magic but learning this effect when I first started out I don't remember.

Magician and Spectator each get half of a shuffled deck. Magician and spectator are ask to turn their back and find a favorite card and in their pile and place face down on top of the deck. Magician places his card facedown into the middle of the spectators. And the spectator put his card in middle of the magicians. Magician then take half of Spectators card face up and put them on top of his pile and the remaining cards of the Spectators face up on bottom of his pile. The cards are squared and when they are spread all the cards are facing right way except the two selections.

Easy effect but looking for credit.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Ryan,

I think the Triumph-style effect can be traced back to Francis Carlyle's The Upside-Down Deck, published in Scarne on Card Tricks (1950).

Good luck!

Actually, I believe this effect is credited to Walter Gibson.
There are many tricks, and many effects, but rarely a Grand Effect. There are many entertainers, but few real magicians. Many technicians, but few artists who use their art to explore their vision. - Derren Brown, Absolute Magic

It was published in Spanish as "El mazo patas arriba".

A curiosity: which presentation do you use for this effect?

Thanks!
Best regards
