Take a 3x3 rubik cube, have one color in the middle, and surronded it by all squares of the same color. To have every side like that.

Not only is it possible, but is a classic pattern in Rubik's Cube history.

From a solved cube, in standard cube notation, here is how to do it:
(L- R+) (T+ B-) (F- P+) (L- R+)

For those who don't read cube notation:
1. Turn left face one quarter turn counterclockwise
2. Turn right face one quarter turn clockwise
3. Turn top face one quarter turn clockwise
4. Turn bottom one quarter turn counterclockwise
5. Turn front face one quarter turn counterclockwise
6. Turn posterior face one quarter turn clockwise
7. Turn left face one quarter turn counterclockwise
8. Turn right face one quarter turn clockwise

Hmmm is that standard Cube Notation???

I would have thought it should be written like this:

L'RUD'F'BL'R

Anyway, thanks for the moves!
