Hi
About 2011 I bought a trick where a card is selected and returned. A rubber band is wrapped around the deck which is placed on the table. The table is banged and the selected card jumps to the top and the deck is still banded. I recall the basics but and looking through my collection and not finding it and wondering if it was a download.I want to see if I am missing any fine points all these years later even though I remember the instruction was short. Anyone know what the effect was marketed as. Thanks |

I believe there is a similar effect on this dvd "Rubber Bang" by Sean Yang http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S18393
There are several routines worth checking out on it. This dvd is WAY underpriced. Also pick up some extra bands with your order. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S18543 It is a specific size and style needed for a few of the routines on the dvd that is made in Taiwan and hard to find here in the US (although I did find some at a rare, offbeat flea market for not much less).

There's a chapter on "Banded Deck" effects in "Charles Jordan's Best Card Tricks" by Karl Fulves. One of these effects is similar to what you describe; the pack is thrown in the air and cuts itself at the chosen card.

Thanks but no sorry, neither were the one I purchased. I recall the video had a demo in a diner counter. No the deck is not twisted or thrown. It is banded sitting on the table. Only the single card seems to visually POP on top unbranded, not flipped or thrown out.
