Hi Everybody,
As you can read in the subjectline I am most certainly not new to the Magic Café, but up until so far I have used it for reference only. After 10 years or so I finally decided to join as a member and occasionally join in a discussion. About me: I am 53, doing magic for 34 years, in front of an audience with all kinds of stuff for 45 years. I have been a professional magician/illusionist for more than 20 years now. Where magic is my job and my passion, my hobbies are movies, languages and boardgames. The language thing comes in handy when I see a nice English, French or German or whatever trick and decide to rework it in my own language. For several magic dealers I have made hundreds of translations of trickdescriptions (before the dvd era obviously) and I would like to use this opportunity to shout out to all of you are marketing an effect: DVD and downloadable instructions are a great thing to add to tricks, but I think that I am one of many who would also like to see a paper description as well. Anyway, this is me. I absolutely love magic and love my job. For me the magic lies in the amazement in people's faces when they have seen mine or someone else's trick. Even after all those years, I still drive home with a smile after every performance. Hope to talk to you all soon, Guido (JPM Claassen) The Netherlands |

To Luna, what is a high magician? Am I missing something here? Of course I don't mind talking to you.
To Colin: a wide variety of board games, but Catan, Scotland Yard, Formula D and most certainly Flash Point Fire Rescue are among my favourites. Thanks Mary for your kind words. On the side by the way I design and build escape rooms for third parties. I just come up with them and sell them to other people to exploit them. I am telling this because in my humble opinion it has a lot in common with (creating) magic and certainly is a big plus if your thinking is filled with magic. |

Love all of those. Had a new escape room place open up next to me here can't wait to try it out.
