Hello,

Could someone share with me (here or in a private message) some good, known builders of illusions within Europe?
I'm in Belgium and it's quite the task to find good illusions is my area.

Bill Smith and Willie Kennedy are great, but the shipping and import costs are killing me.
If someone knows builders in Germany, Netherlands, France or UK, please let me know.

I'm looking specifically for large stage illusions, yet not the 'too large'. The idea is to tour with just 1 or 2 extra pairs of helping hands...
Very likely I will be contradicting myself with the above, but I really really like the water levitation DC did many years ago.
Heard some stories about knock offs that leak and it being a very tricky illusion to perform, but the effect is amazing, if someone would like to share some insights on it with me, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

They are back in business of ripping people of you mean...apart from some exceptions like they pay Jonathan a small fee to build his sawing after ripping him off for more than 10 years.
The way they work is that they build rip-off's and when the Original creator contacts them asking to stop they just say that they will not stop building them but if you want they are willing to pay a small fee for each one sold after you sign a contract giving away your rights.

If you don't want this agreement they just keep on selling it without permission.

They use to be known as Dominik magic but they got such a bad reputation that they bought the Tilford name when the original owner of Tilford magic sold his business.

It is a big problem to find good builders nearby, and if you find one at last the shipping cost is half the price of the illusion it self. I have build a couple of illusions my self (tip over trunks, crystal caskets, lion cages) and smaller illusions. The reason why I build them myself is just the shipping cost, and of course I could build with my look.
So it is okey to announce a book I wrote about building utility bases, step by step with tips and tricks I have collected over the years. the booked called "Easy to build illusions for working magicians" and is in pdf format.
I believe that there is many out the in the magic world who wants to build there own illusion but don't know how, or don't have the blueprints, afraid of doing anything wrong and so on, this is the perfect book for them.
I have read almost any book about building illusions and found that most of them just included ideas and simple drawings, a few bluprints but still the author expect that you are a experience carpenter.
And still after 35 years of collecting everything about illusions, books, blueprints, patents and so on I am surprised that there is so few builders around...good builders.

Here are som examples of what I built, these are 3d printed models in scale 1:12 and working as far as it was capable in scla 1:12, no hinges for example but work exactly like the 'original' (still as far it can be in scale 1:12).

My experience with Tilford: I paid a deposit and since them they don't reply to my mails. Will wait till the end of the week and if I don't get any answer will fill a lawsuit!

Time for an update on my previous post:

It turned out that Tilford had a difficult moment the time I ordered the illusions. But everything is fine now, they contacted me several times (phone, whatsapp, email) to find together with my a solution.
I got my Illusions and honestly, I am very happy! The quality is very good, the bases are deceptive and they taught on everything.
