Anyone know how to unstick a tel's bell?

Hold the bell firmly in one hand, and the stem in the other hand. Try turning the bell, either clockwise or counter-clockwise. Unless it's frozen on, it should move with a little muscle power. It may not be easy, but it should move. Move it only enough to notice that it moved. Then try the secret release to see if it will ring. If not, unscrew it just a bit more and try the release again. Bear in mind that it can be loosened too much, which will allow it to ring freely, which you don't want.

There is a possibility the little nut is turned too much or another dynamic is off.
The ring may have seated too deeply. There are a good 8 or 9 possibilities.

This and other problems may require you to take it apart and learn to be a mechanic. I've had to do this too.

I had one which simply broke it two during the normal handling. Really unacceptable
