Release date 14 Nov.

Effects.

We’re back with a second helping of Outlaw Effects goodness. Once again the master of wallets Tony Curtis took on the task of recreation one of the mentalism communities favourite wallets. Made to Tony’s super high standards the Hideout V2 is an amazing piece of awesomeness that you will carry with you every day!

Disguised as an everyday bill-fold wallet the Hideout V2 is a powerhouse full of hidden pockets and even has a very sneaky peek built in.

Here is what the pros are saying

The Hideout is one of the most versatile mentalist wallets I've seen. The creative possibilities for effective 'impromptu' work are endless. High quality work and well thought out "Bob Cassidy”

I have spent a long time savouring the H.O.W. and in my honest opinion I have found it to be THE BEST instant peeking wallet that I have ever used.

The peek is instant and congruent; there is no need to re-open the wallet for 'some reason'. The billet indexing space is more than generous and allows the performer to have a vast amount of 'outs' or better still more than one effect using a billet index.

Best of all this wallet holds money well and in a normal manner, which cannot be said for some wallets on the market.

This is the best mentalism wallet on the market at the moment, and at an amazingly agreeable price. I always have mine - where is yours?" "Paul Brook”

It's a regular full size bi-fold hip pocket wallet. It is made from high quality leather to Tony Curtis’s exacting standards.

1. Its primary functions are multiple outs/ Indexing and built in peek!

2. This wallet has 20 pockets, two of them gaffed for the built in peek, 8 pockets that are "hidden" and they're not in the bill compartment. The bill compartment is not gaffed.

3. It has pockets that are wide enough to hold business cards, credit cards, Kioku cards, Psi Card etc. Nine pockets of the 20 are deep enough to completely conceal a playing card.

4. It can be set up as a switching wallet. The wallet duplicates itself (don't ask)

5. The billfold compartment is deep enough to easily hold British currency (the wide stuff ).

6. There are hidden pockets that can hold playing cards, be used for indexing, multiple outs, KK routines etc.

7. There is a built in self-contained Outlaw peek function inside the wallet!

8. It is so simple yet so devious.
9. A devastating addition to your arsenal!

It is the Father of all Intimidating Destroyers! (Not sure what that means, but it sounds cool)

This is deffo going on my Xmas list to the wifey. She'll have a fit when she sees the price but, never mind, I'll just have to buy my own boxers, socks and deodorant this year.

I have one that I purchased from Outlaw Effects a few years ago - very nice wallet! It holds about as many wallet-type effects that you could possibly want. I have other wallets that I use for specific things, but this wallet is definitely the best for indexes and outs, by far. Is this wallet different in any way from the one sold by OE?

Thanks!

I should have posted V2 in the thread title. Duh.

Very good question Jim. From the Vlog they've tweaked the design and upgraded the leather.

Tony, I have a question: The original Hideout used glue for the gimmicks inside the wallet. These all come loose fairly soon after starting to use the wallet; I have to re-glue them more often than I'd like. Actually I have changed the way some are contained within the wallet altogether. I discussed with Rick the possibility of having them sewn into the leather, though that never happened. Are they still glued as in the past?

Thanks!

I own the showdown wallet, and I'm wondering is the lock mechanic the same?
Does this have a shogun? Please tell me it doesn't
What are the dimensions and the thickness of the wallet? Is it slimmer than showdown?
Is the peek the same? on the inside or is it on the outside?
Does it have two F**ps? or just one like the showdown?

Similar, better in my opinion.

About the same as the Showdown.

Inside, same 3M type.

Two separate flaps - one that locks - ingenious!

HTH!

I've ordered mine and am super excited about receiving this. Having only used a JOL wallet for card to envelope previously, I was desperately looking for a good regular looking wallet, with a peek and extensive indexing for cards rather than billets.

Having scoured the forums, watched a ton of videos and viewed many wallets, the hideout really does look like a winner (for me anyway). It appears to do what it was designed to do extremely well without trying to pack in too much. If there was one more addition that would really be the icing on the cake, it would be a SUC. But I can live without it....

The SUC is copyright and Mark is already Fed up of various dealers ripping him off , so don't think this is going to happen anytime soon

Hi, does anyone who has this able to advise if this is suitable for use as an everyday wallet? Will it be too thick with all the credit cards and cash in it? Also not sure what peek features that this wallet have that are advantageous as compared to other peek wallets? Thanks!

I'd be interested in getting this if they made it in a size that looked like something we would use in the US. It does look good!

I received my wallet yesterday and I can say that the wallet could easily pass for an everyday wallet and would not be seen as 'gimmicked' if examined when empty or when containing just money. However, when you've loaded the wallet for performance mode, your wallet wouldn't be examinable.

In my opinion you could get away with using this as your everyday wallet with some loaded items for your effects but it would be best to keep your general wallet content (and other effects) light to preserve the thin look of the wallet. You just need to find the right balance of wallet pocket usage for effects and personal items.

I probably will use this as a money wallet when going out knowing that I'll be performing (and will need some cash) rather than have it as my everyday wallet.

The peek is very similar to what you would find in many wallets (a large viewing area) but has some added viewing protection so the peek is less detectable.

Ps. There is no coin pouch.

Hope that helps?

Thought I'd share - I've been road-testing the wallet with the heirloom (revenge) effect and it works a treat. I discovered a large internal pocket that is not mentioned in the video but provides additional space for larger outs, such as letters. Because of the p**k, you no longer need to ask a spec for the card they are 'divining'. They can merely write it on a business card and following the hidden move, you are set to produce letter and card for your finale. I think this really adds to the effect - something that was missing from many alternative wallets that could be used for this effect.

So if you're an heirloom fan, this is a great wallet option for you.

As one of the reviews on the Alakazam site says the Infinity wallet is the better choice for everyday use. Check out both before you buy.
