I have the original Hideout and if using the index feature ( i.e. for Heirloom ) had to double up the cards in pockets to work the effect. Is is the same situation with the new version?

Yes, if you want to keep all the cards in the locked part of the wallet only (which is what I do) otherwise there are many more pockets for indexing so you don't have to double up.

I have the infinity wallet. Can anyone tell me if the peek is the same? I read somewhere that the peek is instant, so cant see how it would be the same, however from reviews etc it looks very similar

The Hide Out is a good wallet like others Outlaw wallets
But the Phantom wallet and the H wallet are the best in this category.
Multiples peeks,cards or papers indexs...

Yeah I spotted that, that's what provoked me into asking!

For me, this is the best wallet I've purchased - and I must have gone through half a dozen similar wallets in my time.
At last I can keep full sized cards, unfolded in a huge index.
It has a fantastic peek, that's so natural.
But the feature I like the most is the switching part of it. Goes completely outnogiced, and works in the spectators hands!
After all this, it is top notch quality, looks like a regular wallet, and easily holds UK banknotes!
It's replaced by old Stealth Assassin, which was totally battered from so much use.
If you're on the fence on this, I highly recommend it.

As a long time user of the original Hideout and more recently the Annihilation wallet in my honest opinion the Hideout is by far the better all rounder. The Hideout p@@k is so so easy and the s@@@@@ing section is a masterpiece! Even if you don't use that part of the wallet as intended the storage is brilliant, think KK and you don't even know it's in there. I have just ordered the updated version from Peter at Alakazam and really looking forward to playing with it.

I like all the features in the Hideout, too bad it doesn't have a separator in the bill section, otherwise we would get some kind of himber function. I won't get this one since I have the Showdown, which does everything I want (except the absence of CTW, but I also own Hwallet if I want to do CTW effect). What I like with the switching system in both Showdown and Hideout is that it can be used in magic as well as mentalism.

Someone here mentioned Phantom Wallet, having seen it, I still believe the multiple out and indexing in either Showdown and Hideout is superior than the one in Phantom Wallet. Still, if you're interested in the CTW and SUC function of the Phantom wallet, you may be interested in the Phantom, as it has a lot and lot of functions, but if you don't need such functions (CTW and SUC), then the peek, indexing and multiple and overall the switching system in both Showdown and Hideout are the best I have ever seen. The peek is extremely fair in both of these wallets, the fairest ever possible. Spectators see what you see, while in reality you get the information and spectators only see an empty black window.

The search for the perfect wallet seems to be one of those endless activities that magicians always pursue! But I must confess having a personal love for magic wallets of all kinds. There is lots that I have always loved about the original Hideout and I think this is a really good re-release. I'm very pleased with the quality of the wallet, and for the type of things I perform it is an excellent all-rounder. My only real disappointment with the Alakazam release was that it didn't come with any more routines. I've done a more detailed review here: http://www.bicycle-cards.co.uk/2017/01/2......-review/

It's not what you do but the way that you do it!

I fully agree. The wallet is really good but the DVD is a let down.

I was also let down by the DVD. It seems less detailed than my previous experiences with Alakazam productions. The lack of additional information on the website resources (once registering the product) was also disappointing. All that being said, I love the wallet. I have always been a fan of the features available within the SAW but its use as an everyday wallet was not very practical so I found it more passable as a business card wallet. The Hideout can definitely be used as an everyday wallet making the use of money for bill divinations and the like a little more congruent in application. The craftsmanship is top notch and it is packed with features. Personally speaking, my favorite feature is one that I really wasn't aware it had so I think it has something for anyone (with a need for a mentalism wallet). Your imagination is really the limit with this so the fact that the DVD was somewhat lacking can be overlooked in my opinion but for beginners perhaps this could be an issue.

Anyone disappointed with the quantity of material on the provided DVD should sign up for the free SAW masterclass at Alakazam. Most of the material and thinking can be applied to the Hideout. Peter has hit it out of the park.
