Hi guys, I'm postingfor my magician friend in Russia as I don't know the answer. Where in Russia can he buy a dove to do magic with? What's the best breed, does it need to be trained,clipped.........

I can't tell you where to get a dove in Russia but can answer a few of your questions. The best breed in my opinion is the white java dove but they are hard to find. I believe to most used breed is the ringneck and recently the silky has become popular. Yes, they need to be trained. Remember they are animals and need to be comfortable with you and their settings. You cannot perform dove magic without training. This training involves several months of constant attention and handling. Never clip your doves. It isn't necessary if they are trained properly. An occasional trimming of the tail is sometimes needed for appearance but that's all.
