If you've ever done card warp, there is a discrepancy in the torn cards at the end, but it's still a classic.
Every time I've done the Wonder Pen-e-tration or Misled, there is a discrepancy in the pen or pencil going through the bill and never has anyone mentioned it. Heck I remember at one convention, a magician did a trick where he started with a red deck and ended with a blue deck and not one magician noticed he switched decks in the middle. Is it possible that someone notices that the tears don't match, sure. Is it likely, I'm guessing not. I say guessing because I've never done the trick and so I have no data on which to form an opinion. If you haven't done the trick and worked it repeatedly, you are just guessing. And if you tear the card fairly straight, there is almost nothing to find. I imagine you could come up with motivation for tearing the end of one of the cards to destroy the evidence, but from listening the people who actually perform this, it would seem to be running without being chased.
The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance; it is the illusion of knowledge.

Is it really difficult to first crease the card firmly allowing you make a pretty straight tear?
That would seem to greatly reduce any discrepancy. But since they didn't do that in the demo I can only surmise that it is either impractical or unnecessary. But even if not completely necessary it would seem to be a prudent thing to do unless it's simply too difficult to do consistently. |

Would perfect score aid in prepping the cards?

Ive done this many times. Just out of curiosity I tore the "souvenir" card and even still it looked like a match. If you can fold and crease a card in half, and rip it down that line (which is incredibly easy given the card stock used and the rest of the gimmick as a perfect guide, then there are zero problems and no recognizable discrepancies. It does NOT look like the poor choice of image on the product ad copy.
It's insane that there are literally pages of banter about a discrepancy that is a non issue. It's not fair to the creator to try to steer people away from this product over a problem that doesn't exist. |

Those who complained about the tear not matching ...
Just get one , and perform it . Complain all you want if anyone even notices it after you've performed . I've worked this for emost of my closeup gigs , since it came out not long ago , and I've not heard of anyone telling me " oh hey look these pieces doesn't line up " . Well no they're not trying to be just " nice " to me and hide the fact that they knew something is up . I've even got spectators who kept the restored piece and brought it back to me weeks later , since I work at a restaurant regularly , asking me how I did it the last time . Just try it , you're worrying too much ... One of my most performed effect that uses consumable gimmicks . It's very nice for Joao to release refills , thanks ...

What I don't understand is this... The performer makes the second tear. If you want them to match you can make them match. There is no discrepancy if you don't want one.

I'm so tempted to buy this...I have my first ever table hopping gig coming up in a few weeks I'm wondering if this will be a suitable effect to show

Hate to beat a dead horse and if everyone says that specs don't notice or care about the tear discrepancy then I will take your word for it. The trouble is that personally it bugs the heck out of me so I'll have to pass on this.
I don't think its magician thinking either, I think some people's brains are just wired differently. Plus I do a lot of woodworking and fine joinery so maybe I'm just more attuned to it. I think it's a clever idea but unfortunately I'm afraid it bothers me too much to look past it even if it my specs rarely notice. |

And finally one last time... YOU make the second tear. Forget what you saw in the demo. If you want it to match you can make it match

I do like this, but it is the PRACTICE part that is to darn exspensive to practice the tear, lol.Have done this at work a few times now and some of the student's are pretty much on the ball, the crowd I pick is anyway.I always test out new material on them first before I take it out to a gig, when I get them that is lol.Nothing mentioned at all about the tear which is good but I just get this cringe feeling everytime I tear the card and think,oh no, hope they don't notice that they do not match, anyway all good but once they are all gone that's it for me as just not getting that wow factor enough, surprise yes but that is it,who know's though as I do have a good few left and I might still get more WOW factor from performing it before they run out .

Now you can make an argument that that doesn't matter and that's fine, but they obviously don't match in the way they normally would. Oh, and I'm also basing that idea off the posts here from actual users of the effect. Many of which say there is a discrepancy even if few specs notice it. So it's confusing that several actual users say there is a discrepancy but you insist there isn't. So be it, but it sure seems like there's one to me. As far as the performer making the "second tear" (and I'm not exactly clear of you're meaning by second tear) but that's moot because if there are any jagged edges at all then yes, the tears will be the same, but they shouldn't be the same, they should be opposite of one another in order to fit together as any torn pieces would. But in any case, I honestly do like the effect and giving out an impossible object and I truly hope you are very successful with this product. I own and use many of your products and I think you are a great creator and producer of some extremely clever and amazing magic. |

I have performed this well over 300 times, love there last few years. My handling is slightly different to that shown with Rejoined, however, none has EVER noticed the rips are not perfect.

If you want the rip to be perfect just make a template of the tear with a regular playing card and then make a tiny score on the gimmick..but I think this is not absolutely necessary...
