Gamjoker is right. If you look at the pictures the illusion is not near perfect. No Way would this fool anyone, you don't even have to look closely.
This is a good product and idea but a spectator is no fool.Sorry |

Evolution is a step forward. People will look for answers when they see something as impossible as this. You are quite right you do need to switch of the magical switch which would be the lights so no one could see the finished card.
This is not art you only trying to hide the problem. Take a look at the pictures. Anyone who ever done a puzzle would see that the two pieces do not fit. My take on the evolution on the magic art is Perfection. Any dealers who sell this should show the pictures to the customer before they ask their customers to make a decision to purchase this. I printed one of the pictures out and showed it to my 12 year old. As soon as she looked at it she said that I had stuck two different cards together. |

This is a routine and a trick and not a puzzle and of course you can't show the final piece without the spectator understanding and seeing the whole trick take place. I recommend you reading "The structural conception of magic" by Arturo de Ascanio. This is my free advice for you (and last one). |

I don't have this, but maybe you could score the card before hand? That might ensure it looks very close.

Right, I'm referring to scoring the other end of the gimmick using the already prepared side as a template/guide... so it should look identical I think

Good Advice. You cannot show the final piece without the spectator understanding.
I have got this down. When you perform this trick at a table in a restaurant and the finished piece is passed around to the rest of the table, someone shouts. The torn pieces don't match up and they start to show the rest of the table the flaw. Don't worry just tell them to read " The Structural conception of Magic" By Arturo de Ascanio. Last piece of free advice. We live in the 21st Century and Spectators are not easy to fool and will take great pleasure letting you know. Show the pictures that Gamjoker posted and see if they fool anyone. |

What João Miranda is saying is correct.First of all let me say that I do not own this effect (Not yet anyway)and I can see what some are saying about the discrepancy in the tear but if you take your mind back to being the lay person and walking into a magic shop and being shown this trick and being given the rejoined card to keep as a souvenir you would of been amazed regardless of the tear; the magician has MAGICALLY fused together the two halves and you was entertained. And this is the type of magic that inspires you to become part of the art of magic, same as with the TT and silks. If you have actually got it and worked it you may get a big suprise and if someone say's to you "hey mr magic man these tears don't match even though you somehow magically fused them together. Then you may have a valid point. If you want to prove João Miranda wrong:Go and perform it and video it and if people say what you think they will say show João Miranda. Graham

Would you spend £50 to see if this would pass??? People on camera are more polite and behave different. Basic psychology.
I work restaurant tables at this time of year where their is 12 at the table. They are a big gang and would think nothing of tearing the card to check that they match. A souvenir means nothing to them on a night out at Christmas. When they see that they don't match they would shout "Do it again Mr Magic, you might get it right this time". Spectators can be very clever as in a restaurant situation you don't no what they do for a living. Why not produce more convincing gimmicks, problem solved. This is a great effect and Children will have fun performing it for Granny and Grandad and their 5 year old sister or brother. |

I am not a hater. Dealers are sales people. A salesperson's job is to create buzz "Awesome" to generate sales to make money to live.
When I read your post above you are doing what a good salesman would do. Sell. But I think as a customer I have the right to point out flaws within a product as the people that I would be working for will point out the flaw. Hater is a bit strong as I love the product. But can you not agree with me people would tear the gimmick to prove to themselves that this really happened. It is to impossible. |

All I can say is that I performed this at a company Christmas party last Saturday night (three hours of strolling magic). I performed this 12 separate times. Everyone was impressed and the reactions were amazement and wonder. The audience was not made up of magicians, but adults at a window and siding company aged from mid 20s to senior citizens. Not one person noticed any of the "imperfections" mentioned elsewhere on this thread. I have lots more shows to do this month, so I will be looking for refills soon.

Or maybe, just maybe your audience are all stooges just to make you look good. You could be assisting Joao Miranda to hype is product and then he gives you commission. Of course I am only jesting and being sarcastic because it won't be long before we hear from 4King...sorry I meant King14 implying that you are mistaken and that we are all wrong and don't know what we are talking about. Mine is arriving soon , will be working it in a restaurant where dinners are used to seeing regular magic , and I'll see if anyone can spot a flaw with the tear . I've full confidence using it , and with the existence of refills , I'm expecting this to go on my long term performance set . Giving this out as a souvenir will be so special .

GTx. I will probably buy this effect from Joao Miranda in the next few days. He will probably throw in a pack of refills.
If we don't debate we never find out how other people feel. Joao Miranda and Julio Montoro have a good Christmas and PM me a code for a pack of refills and I will order this with another pack of refills tonight. And boy I will test it to death. I have 4 New Year gigs to do and this would go down well. The King14 is from a great stack. Get me the code as lights are out at 9pm and we loss all internet access. |
