I cant seem to locate a video of these effect, but I remember seeing this as a prop for sale or in a book somewhere. The effect is, the magician has a toy zebra that he places into a box. The box "drops" over and when it is opened the zebra is now a solid white horse, and the stripes are "splattered" inside the box.

The second effect is there is a vintage bride and groom wedding cake topper. The groom is accidentally broken, and the bride figure changes to appear to be weeping. Then the groom is pt into a box and restored back to normal.

Does anyone know the formal names for these 2 effects?

You should understand that the Carbonaro Effect show creates many of their effects, so that these may not be off the shelf effects you can find.

Yes, we created these effects for the show. They are not marketed items.

Just wondering who gets the tricks after the shoot?
No matter how many times you say the wrong thing, it will NEVER be right.

And Slim wins with the best response.

Seriously, what did you find compelling about those tricks? Would they really drive your performing character? If so, what would be the best way to do them in your environment?

Most of these shows have some advantages in terms of performance that a casual performer might not. The specific method from the show might be significantly less workable in your circumstances than it is on the show. You can probably apply basic magic principles to do a similar trick that works for you.

Michael Carbonaro has some great effects and a brilliant team of magicians to help keep his show interesting. I wonder if he might create a book or DVD set someday. Then again, I feel like some of his effects would lose a bit of their "specialness" if performed for a spectator that is expecting to see a trick as opposed to a random customer at a toy shop. Who knows...
Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it now. Boldness has genius, power, and magic at its core.

Pov: You can buy a "whatever" to rabbit trick commercially - you place the animal into the box, the sides drop down and there is whatever you want to have there. You can paint it to suit. Don't see why this wouldn't do what you want to do. It's just a small blammo box.
