Congrats Mark (and thank you Jamie)! I purchased Wiki Test a few days ago after the voting had closed so I very happy to see that it won. What an incredible effect. Congrats again!

Congrats to Marc and Craig, both who truly deserve it. What sets both of these two apart is not just the incredibly magic/mentalism they create, but how they love what they do and how they value their customers as friends. Both have actively reached out to me and others personally when we have had issues or concerns and they have built trust in not just their products, but themselves. Truly great people who deserve these awards.

Well done boys. Also, a huge thank you to Jamie for his hard work and keeping this condition alive year after year. I always look forward to it.

To a great 2017!

I can only echo the sentiments of Elimagic and congratulate the winners for bringing their outstanding talents into the community. I feel very humbled to be included in such an amazing list of creators. Smiley faced thing.

As last year's winner, proud to pass the Trick of The Year baton to the massively creative MARC KERSTEIN and WIKITEST.

So good...

It was the best effect I bought this past year - and Marc's out of the box thinking is a gift to all of us.

For any of you that get WikiTest, take the time to get to know it and join the Facebook users group as there are many improved handlings and ideas there as resources.

Congrats also to my dear friend Craig Filicetti (who I will see later today) who takes such good care of his customers.

Thanks to Jamie D Grant for once again being such a swell person and making this event a reality every year Smile

Looked like Little Door was going to win in a runaway. Great effect that deserved a lot of votes, but I agree that wiki was the clear standout this year. I hate app magic (with a passion) but I have been absolutely killing with wiki. Well worth the price.

Which is strange since you simply re-invented a utility prop. You should have won "Utility Prop" of the year award. I think maybe the Café should look at having two awards next year:

1)Trick of the Year
2)Utility Prop of the Year

That makes more sense IMO.

Thanks all. And a huge thank you to everyone who voted.
To even compete against Roddy McGhie, Gregory Wilson and Michael Murray is an honour, and their respective products are indeed excellent.

Thanks also to Jamie for hosting the competition.

Congrats to all the winners, top finishers, and all the folks that got some honorable mention for their work, especially John Jurney for his Coin Coalition and Glenn Morphew for his E=MC2/ Six Card to Pocket. Both recognized for their wonderful works and as notable magic creators.

And special thanks to Jamie for running this fine recognition every year. It's one of the high points of the Café, and allows us all to participate and honor so much good magic, win, lose or draw.

Great job all! Smile

I HATE this thread!!!!!!!!

It causes me to be in awe of all the AWESOME magic that was a part of 2016. And the AWESOME people that bring it to us. And makes my bank account dwindle... NOT Awesome, LOL
And not to mention, the AWESOMEST one of all,
Mr. Jamie Grant for just being AWESOME!!!

Congrats everyone, and thankfully this was a great year for the thread.

Off to the googly machine to keep pondering all these great effects from 2016!

Here is to another AWESOME year; 2017!!!!!!!

I have got to stop drinking energy drinks! I get all hyper on the Café'

Just found this thread and was surprised to see that SheerLuck the Comedy book test received two votes for the trick of the year 2016! Great to be in the final list even if it was only TWO votes, which is TWENTY-TWO less than it got when it was released in 2014 and was in the top THREE list, LOL.

31 Fair Play by Steve Haynes
31 Inferno by Bobby Hasbun
28 Quantum Bender 3 by John T. Sheets
28 Cody's Comedy Book Test by Cody Fisher
24 Sheer Luck by Shawn Farquhar

Thanks to those that thought it was worth voting for, even though it's been out a few years and for those involved that let it stay in the official list...

Congrats to the winner and all those who did create great new magic in 2016.

Cheers,

-shawn

I thought "Little Door" would win hands down - not to take anything away from Wikitest.

This is just like the US election and the Super Bowl. Smile

I thought Little Door would win also. I'd wish I felt better about Wikitest winning but I have an S5 so...

Ditto for both Little Door and an S5. Have you looked at Inject?

Sucks if you aren't able to do Wiki because it is so darn good. Little door is a visual masterpiece but wiki is a mind melter that you are ready to perform at a moment's notice.
