I just saw some dateless WL on the big auction site. I've read about people sanding away dates to match a set, but just got the idea of a custom "timeless" set of coins. I think the stories I could come up with would be awesome. Any ideas or experiences on this?

1) Why ???
2) I don't do a lot of coin work, but Ive never had anyone appear to compare dates
3) It would seem to me that a coin with no date MAKES it suspicious, and would reinforce a spectator believing the coin was a "tricky" prop

If they are "dateless" they are not real coins. They are "rounds" that you can buy in bulk when collecting silver, gold even copper. They strike many to look like old coins just so your 'collection' looks neater. You can generally buy them in mint condition for pennis over their material price or market price on the weight of the commodity.

Google Silver bullion and silver rounds - you will find tons

I have never heard or read about people sanding away dates on coins. That statement really makes no sense to me either.

Unless you perform for eagles, the date isn´t a problem at all.......I second Poof-Daddy with his final statement
