Can anyone tell me if the cup provided is the plain white one as used on the demo video or is it the one pictured on the Murphys site add under the promo video?

There is no cup provided, you need to provide your own cup. You could use pretty much any normal cup.

If it is any help I have purchased this effect and am willing to give my opinion on it.
What you get: the gimmicks to perform the effect The clay putty stuff to create the balls you use A link to a 20 minute download explanation video It is going to be hard to give a review talking about the restrictions without tipping parts of the method but I will say that ideally you will need to be sat down at a table and your table surface will, ideally, be very similar to the one in the video. Can this be done stand up? Yes it can but is isn't nearly as good due to the amount of body movement required to perform. Personally I didn't like this version and the explanation is so quick it seemed to me like an afterthought. As a full time professional working restaurants, black tie dinners, weddings etc. this isn't something I would consider performing but if you work in a similar fashion to what Mariano showcases in the promo then this is definitely worth a look in if you like the effect shown. I would presume most people are interested in the effect due to Rene Lavand's 3 breadcrumb routine. I personally consider his version more practical as it can almost be done impromptu (borrow a cup, grab some bread as described in his book). You can also probably get a Lavand lecture Dvd or maybe even his book containing several routines for the price of this one effect. In conclusion this product does very well exactly what the trailer shows so if you really want to perform this effect and can perform in the situation as shown in the promo then you will be very happy with your purchase. In other environments I am sure it is possible to perform such as the stand up version taught but I would personally recommend maybe looking at Lavand's original. Obviously this is all my opinion and you reserve the right to disagree, however I shall be selling mine on unused as in the environments I work I wouldn't use this effect. It has, however, spurred me on to bite the bullet, invest in a Rene Lavand book and learn the original. |

Lots of times the original is the best, especially when it had been worked for decades.

TheTrickman,
Thank you for the detailed and helpful review. I was also planning on using this primarily in strolling environments, so your input around that was specially helpful. I've decided to pass and stick with Mr. Lavand's classic handling of this beautiful effect. |

I am very happy with my purchase.
Yes, this is more like a magician's fooler and I would use Rene Lavand's method when performing for laymen. But the method is very, I mean, VERY clever. It got me thinking the possibilities. Rock |

Thanks for review Trickman --very helpful in deciding on purchasing or not.
It got me to watch Levand's breadcrumb video on youtube--the guy was a master! Coffee Cup sounds intriguing, but I am a little concerned about restrictions on where and how it can be performed. I mostly do close up that is a bit more impromptu.

Very nice!
Incidentally, who jazzed up that old Sam Cooke classic...Pretty funky and fits the updated magic quite nicely.

So similar to Lavand's routine that is a shame, of course without Lavand's poem.

I'm slightly on the fence with this one. I can still remember being blown away by the original when I first saw it over 20 years ago! There are definitely some nice features to this which would make it 'easier' (a difficult word in this context since there's more to 'easy' than simply fewer sleights) than the original - and it retains something of the directness of the original. But for me it is somewhat less versatile due to the method. I've gone into a bit more detail here: http://www.bicycle-cards.co.uk/2017/03/1......-review/

Thanks |
