Over the ECSS III weekend, Vic (Gemini Artifacts) unveiled something that is really very special indeed. This is a book (a very fine looking book) and a few highly collectible, elderly tickets associated with the launch of Titanic. He calls the effect FATHOMS, and it is a real winner.
The props I will only say come up to the (extremely high) standard that you have come to expect from Vic Nadata, but it is the thinking behind FATHOMS that really propels this effect into the highest echelon. FATHOMS features many, many variations, each hosting a wide swath of 'hits' that you are free to choose amongst as you create your Titanic moment. So much is here, in fact, that I truly do think that you could perform FATHOMS for the exact same audience several times and only make the event more mysterious and chilling. What's more, Vic has done his research. These hits are not generic 'travelers' who may (or may not) have actually been aboard the doomed ship. The hits actually reveal people who experienced that event firsthand. It is all done with tact, grace, and immense respect for the victims of the tragedy (so much, in fact, that you could really perform FATHOMS as a memorial tribute to the victims and their families). And FATHOMS knows no differentiation in class; you might hit on anything from a steerage passenger to the richest man aboard (you just never know!) The method is logical and simple to master, and the 'necessary business' of the routine is flawlessly incorporated. So what is FATHOMS? It is nothing less than the famous misprinted version of the Titanic investigation--now devilishly 'misprinted' to further your own status as mystery performer! It is also a handful of collectible tickets (or at least reproductions of same) to view the Titanic launch. These are also meticulously researched (reproduced, as I understand it, from an actual such ticket that recently sold at auction). FATHOMS is an extraordinary achievement, beautifully imagined and executed. I suspect, too, that with very little thought you could pull in your favourite White Star routine--and, who knows, a few clips from the Cameron film--for a full Titanic evening. ==VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED== Prof BC

I have just finished reading the instruction manual for this and it is indeed a most glorious effect! So many options to fit different performances. Some great routine are included - 2 awesome ones by Mr. Sinclair!
Some great thinking went into this and it looks amazing as always with Gemini products. Two thumbs up! Chad |

I am about 1/2 way through the manual and so far it's all awesome. I am going to have to mustify the book a bit though, it smells too new.

Yes! Mine arrives tomorrow. Really looking forward. So how does one go about "mustifying" a book? (if you don't mind)

Thank you all for the kind words. FATHOMS should be hitting mailboxes any day now.
Bud, as for the smell, I do sometimes put a scent in the book. However I have received complaints in the past. Dammed if I do....... I figure it was easier to add a scent than to remove it. For those that wish to add a scent to the book or to any prop for that matter, I have found that: http://www.froggysfog.com/scents/scent-s......viYWcGP8 is perfect. I primarily use MILDEW and HAUNTED HOUSE. BE WARNED - use a very small amount. It is best if you spray the scent on a card, then place the item you want to smell in a box with the card. I hope that helps and allows you get the best version of FATHOMS that you can! Enjoy |

This is sorely tempting. I've got a great real life hook to the story myself. My wife's great grandparents came over from Europe in 1912. After making their way from Denmark to England, they were all set to board a ship to cross to the US. But they got bumped, as the ship was full, so they had to catch the next ride. The ship they were bumped from was the Titanic.

What a great "IN" Chris! A few people in my research were bumped from and to the Titanic. At that time in History a coal strike was going on, and lots of passengers were seeking other ways to get across the Atlantic. Very cool.

Fathoms arrived today. What a wonderful job on the props, Vic! Top drawer. Kudos.
The method couldn't be easier. I ordered the Froggyfog Mildew and will use sparingly. |

I just added the option to purchase FATHOMS and the FATHOMS switch box at a discounted rate. Normally the box is $65.00, however for a limited time you can get the box (when purchasing FATHOMS) for only $50.00!

Yes, I just got Fathoms this past weekend at ECSS III and it is worth the hype! In fact, it needs more hype! The cards/tickets look great and it is a wonderfully conceptualized book test! I have an entire Titanic show that this will perfectly enhance and I believe complete.
My first scheduled Titanic show is Valentine's Day weekend and I cannot wait to show it off there! Vince

Shh .. no ... no ... don't hype it up more until AFTER I can save up for this and Spectre.
Then hype away.
