Love these type of psychometry effects. I currently use the bags from Haim Goldenberg's My Precious routine. This may be a nice upgrade since you get 5 bags that look to be bigger than the bags used in Haim's routine allowing you to use other objects than just rings. Very nice!

Does this actually come with the balls, or only the bags? Also, I hope this doesn't use an Instant Moe, Larry or Curly??

The ad says you can use any object, I am guessing that in the video he just decided to use balls to help keep the pace of the routine going. Now I am making a speculation only, but my thoughts are that the bags are gimmicked in such a way that you just have to remember which bag you give each spectator to place their object in. Probably works very similar to the bags used by Haim Goldebergs My Precious routine.

Wow, yes, $100.00 is a steep price. Though, this routine when performed correctly can be one of your most powerful and talked about routines at the end of your show. After reading the ad again, I truly think you just get the bags.

World Magic Shop put up a World Magic Review today for the new products they are making available at Blackpool this week.
Watch it here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=289 Very disappointed to see that SPECTRUMALIST by Wayne Dobson is a copy of Maurice Fogel's Second Spot that has been on the market since Ken Brooke introduced it in the 1970's. I thought Mr. Stone had the exclusive rights to the Ken Brooke line originally for Europe. From the video for this effect, it looks exactly like the original handling and effect with the same routine. The only thing changed is the Snooker Balls being used instead of any item the spectators chose to put in the bags. Nick Lewin has also marketed this effect as well. As far as I know, these are unauthorized versions of this fabulous routine. If you are working magician, and charge a fee for your services, this will pay you 10 fold in entertainment value. Steven's Magic is only authorized dealer in the U.S. able to sell this classic stunning effect. |

The bit that makes me scratch my head - is that you can have an audience member decide
That makes no sense As then even having perfect knowledge yourself, doesn't help |

Just read up on Maurice Fogel's Second Spot
I know [or am sure] it's exactly the same but the Dobson one is more a magic trick - as you bring the snooker balls, and get the audience member to select which ball was which persons I prefer Fogel's routine [not as funny] - [and again I am sure they are both the same, really] - but his it is the mentalist that works out which item belongs to which person. This not only gives the power to the performer, it also [by using specs items] gives the performer a reason [readings] to feel which item belongs to whom Maurice Fogel's Second Spot is $95 I think this one is $100 I'm in the UK so can't get the Fogel one I guess [if they are the same] it really boils down to - do you want purple or black bags Or do you want to support the person you think actually came up / owns the idea |

You can buy 'it' in the UK
http://www.fiveofheartsmagic.co.uk/index......ctId=297 but not sure if that is an official version maybe it's public domain - I think that page may give away too much - but makes it that the spec can choose, just as confusing to me Edit - that's the jumbo version - the regualr version [same website] is £45 - and I note they most sell Dobson stuff, so maybe it was the unbranded Dobson version [?] before they got rights? |

I find this routine simply anti-climatic. Is it really necessary to do it 5 times? We get the point after 2 times? Why not do it just 2 times? Why not do it 8 times? It doesn't build? It's like doing the Multiple Card Select... Is it necessary to find 10 cards? At least in the Multiple Card Select, every card is found in a different way... That's entertaining, but it not surprising. Having a ball just brought out in front of each spectator from behind is not only not surprising... It's not entertaining. Don't get me wrong, I love Wayne's stuff... This one is just anti-climatic. .

If you watch the video, Wayne hands the ball to the guy, and he goes to a spectator and puts the ball in their hand. Don't get that bit, as it changes the classic routine. Dobson is not predicting, but we don't know what he is tell the guy to do.
Just because Wayne Dobson changes the items, and moves the routine around, does not make it a completely different magic effect or trick. The money gag at the end when the person takes back the note is pure gold. Adds a bite humor to the climax. It is in the original manuscript from Ken Brooke, I own one of the original products from Ken Brooke, I purchased back in the 1970's. No this is not public domain, Paul Stone owned or owns the rights. He originally took over the Ken Brooke line after Ken Brooke's passed away. Paul Stone use to have a website of some of the Ken Brooke magic, but it has been down for several years. Anyone from the U.K. know anything about Paul Stone, I believe is a magician. |

During the trailer video, it shows Mr. Dobson performing this routine on various TV shows. Does any have a link to a video showing the full performance of this. I did a quick perusal of YouTube, and found many great performances of Wayne, just not doing this routine.
Thanks! |

It is informative to read the previous posts. I referenced World Magic Review above, they pay the television show while talking about the effect. There you will find a link to the effect on World Magic shop, which also has a video of the effect with Wayne Dobson performing it many years ago on his television show in the U.K.
http://www.worldmagicshop.com/the-spectr......-dobson/ As Wayne Dobson, he is a little off color from some people and audiences, so you may want to edit your presentation. This promo is still not the full routine, but as what you are buying is Wayne Dobson routine and presentation of this classic prop, I would think that is way they edited and cut out much of the show. Unless someone can find the full version on YouTube, that may be all you get, and I would think they took down the full version because they are selling this now. |

It's not a "spectator" though. DR at best might be in place.
