FWIW:
I tried my version of the routine yesterday during my show at the Leicester Comedy Festival. It was extremely well received. It got a standing ovation mid show. My DR & IS addition worked really well which means that I can perform it as "Spectator as Mindreader" without a confederate or pre show. It's too long though. The process of getting five people on stage, presenting the balls, handing out the bags in order, having them choose a ball, place it in the bag, face this way and that way, collecting the bagged balls etc is far too convoluted and tedious even with the comedy lines I'd written for it. I shall be working on streamlining the process, possibly cutting it down to four people as a start. |

I am interested in this, but before spending 100 pounds, I would like to know, if the routine only is possible with preshow work? (stetting it up with the spectator)
Thanks |

Magicians helping magicia.... oh
I wouldn't mind but Doug it's an effect you have bought off the rack - it's not even you own effect Doesn't mean anything to me - as I don't have this [and I hate IS/DR stuff anyway] I think one of my favourite [if not the favourite] people on here is Michael Daniels He always gives ideas/tips out He gave one for The Gift and then others took it added bits to his idea [and wouldn't share any of it with anyone/not even MD who came up with the great idea to start with] Kristian I hope you find a workable IS presentation |

Buy the book, find a seamstress and have your own bags made. Lea Earle also claimed to have invented them when he marketed & sold, his no-brainer bags. Lee's one-time business partner, Larry Becker, published an effect with the same methodology as Fogel's Coin Coin-Cidence, page 381, (without proper credit I believe). Larry also seemed to borrow his three-way envelopes from Ted Lesley. Although, Larry had some nice touches with the seals etc. I have learned a great deal from Larry and Lee & if proper credit was ever given,I will certainly stand corrected. |

But in all reality, anyone who has access to the book would certainly be able to look in the table of contents to find the correct page, so in hindsight, my contribution probably was not needed. On another note, although a number of the posters here think that the addition of the assistant giving the balls out takes away from the effect, I like the addition of the assistant. I think it adds a layer of mystery that throws off the more astute spectator and it really doean't tip the method as the mentalist is not letting on to the assistant how he/she knows which person chose which ball.
