I purchased this prop for 50.00 used and it needs some work done to it. I am going to do this myself, but I was wondering if anyone had blueprints for this or mabey the instructions for the trick as it did not come with any. If you do this trick how about some routine ideas and painting themes? What do you have

We have both a dollhouse and a temple! They perform differently as the doll house is used only as a production where as the temple is used as a vanish and reproduction (after you have perforated the assistant with the swords). As for paint scheme which one do you actually have? As far as blueprint plans Paul Osborne has this in his plan library. We customed our doll house to look exactly like a toy doll house and used extra features to make it look exactly like one both on the exterior and on the inside as well. Amazing what a little extra detail will yeild in results and quality.

The design is of a Temple it has gold, red and yellow on it. The Prop is a combo doll house and temple, all you do is swap out the walls and roof, you use the same base. The doll house walls resemble a country home Blue, with flowers on window sill, etc. I believe I have all the parts. But I need instructions and or blueprints for this one exactly. Has anyone used the tricks and painted them to resemble some other structure?

The only perform differently if you WANT them to. I know a performer, David Seebach, who does a great job using the Temple as a production. He shows it empty, places a bunny into it, and sticks in the swords. Opens the door, and the bunny is gone! Removes the swords, the bunny returns. Now, from the audience perspective the trick is over ... until the girl pops out!
Wonderful twist on the Temple. |

Paul Osborne publishes plans for both of these illusions. They are pretty decent plans, and they aren't very expensive. Considering what you paid for yours, I would think it would be worth the investment.
One of his collection books probably has these plans in it, also. You could also check out Byron Wels' "The Great Illusions of Magic". I know that The Doll's House is in there, and probably the Temple is, also. Here are a couple of links to the Osborne plans: Temple of Benares: http://hamiltonholtinc.site.yahoo.net/temofben.html Doll House: http://hamiltonholtinc.site.yahoo.net/candydollhouse.html http://hamiltonholtinc.site.yahoo.net/clasdolhous.html Hope this helps. When I used to do a temple, I would show it empty after placing in the swords. Remove the swords and produce the girl.
The girl would come out with a mutliated parasol which we would go into right away. Try to make the costuming for the girl big and fluffy so she looks so much bigger than the space she was in, I would make the unit up as a temple and then you could use the swords or not. If you make it up like a gingerbread house, you could use poles painted like candy kanes .

Good news and bad:
The Dennis Loomis Doll House Plans have long been out of print. However, I'm correcting that currently. I'm working on a new version which will be a DVD/CD Rom. It will have all the original drawings and instructions, but I'll be able to discuss what makes the design so deceptive and show the Doll House and some derivative illusions: Sword Temple, Horse Production, etc. Watch for an early summer release. In the mean time, feel free to contact me with any questions. Dennis Loomis http://www.loomismagic.com
