Firstly, where can I get a good US$20 - 40 dancing cane? which type should I buy?

should I get a two piece one or a one piece?

is the aluminium cane from hocus-pocus a good one? is it a two piece or a one piece one?

I have heard that the fantasio vanishing cane could be use as a dancing cane. is that true? but I need to buy the gimmick as well is it? where can I get them? does the vanishing cane provides the silks as well?

if I get a fantasio appearing cane, can I get it vanish as well or do I have to get both of them?

except for jeff McBride Magic on stage, where can I get routines and techniques to learn the dancing cane?

I hope somebody could answer these questions. I have personally seen a dancing cane before as my friend have perform it before. it is a plastic two piece one.
I am interested in learning it so I hope advise could be given, tnks.

Let me answer a couple of the obvious questions.

The Fantasio appearing cane appears. You could possibly dance with it. But it doesn't also vanish.

The Fantasio Vanishing cane also dances, but it requires an extra gimmick. I think Fantasio made a vanishing cane that has the dancing gimmick with it. There is a way to make it appear, as if by magic, but it requires a special piece of hardware that is difficult to obtain.

Realistically, if you are going to make the cane appear, make it dance, then make it vanish, somewhere along the line, you will probably need to do a switch.

If you are not a dancer, I would not recommend learning the dancing cane. It does require a lot of grace and dancing skill. Otherwise, you will just look silly.

If youre in the market for a dancing cane I would suggest to stay away from the items out there that are sold to modify a fantasio cane to a dancing cane- like the ultimate cane and the fantasio kit. I have purchased both and was disappointed in them both. I don't think it makes much of a difference if you get a two piece cane or not. Although I do own two different two piece metal dncing canes............Hope this helps, Bry

I had and used the Fantasio Dancing and Vanishing Cane for some time. After practicing how to open and adjust the the placement of the gimmick, I had no problem performing the dancing routine.

The only reason to get the 2 piece vs the solid cane is ease to transport the cane to your show.

Remember the heavier the cane, the thicker the gimmick, means it will harder to conceal and make it invisible. Meaning an aluminum vs wood vs cardboard.
