US Tabloids are available at imported newspaper kiosks over most of the world, one will last you a while, you could say you got it on holiday or whatever... The trick is free, I will send a link of the explanation to anyone who asks. I'm editing as I speak. Unfortunately your local printer can't do newsprint, it requires equipment used by the news industry. but you could certainly make it up for yourself. As far as buying refills, I'm hoping to sell out so I can have a second printing with a different headline, now that would be cool! Kindly, Martin |

Had a chance to perform this today for a small group of people and it went very very well. At the end one lady asked if she could see the tabloid and I handed it to her and told her she could keep it! It was great.

Is this similar to Glance.

"The New York Papers," Mark Twain once said,"have long known that no large question is ever really settled until I have been consulted; it is the way they feel about it, and they show it by always sending to me when they get uneasy. "

Steve I don't know I'm not familiar with Glance. Do you have a link?

It sounds very different to Glance, Glance is essentially a magazine version of MOABT.

Agree with Mark. Glance is very much a MOABT concept and involves opening a magazine and thinking of any long word on a page. This is taking a page out of a tabloid, having the spectator tear it into pieces and then selecting a piece where the headline has been previously predicted.
This very much reminds me of the very famous headline prediction that David Berglas featured and explained in the Mind and Magic of David Berglas. (Derren Brown also performed this on Something Wicked...) What Martin offers here is a much easier way of performing the headline prediction as he saves you from having to track down all the props and provides you with the simple insert for use. One could also argue that Becker and Earle's Eye Candy in the early 2000's which included magazine inserts that were destroyed each show was similar in concept. Having seen how this plays, I think $19.95 is a steal for the work put into this by Martin. I for one would not complain about the price of having to buy refills. Considering the cost of consumables used in each show or given away in my stand-up act, (12 feet of rope, paper bags, deck of cards, lemon, cracker jack prizes, etc, that still cost me less than $10 per show) this is an insignificant cost in my honest opinion. On top of that, knowing this is printed on tabloid quality paper, that makes it worth the price. I have had some different printing needs for my theater show and any type of special paper is almost an extra 20% cost to the project. I congratulate Martin for bringing this to market. |

Michael I could not agree with you more especially seeing now first hand twice the reactions this gets from people! I honestly believe without reservation those who purchase this will be more than happy to reorder when the time comes. It is fun and entertaining which is always a great combo.

I totally understand the issue with refills if you do regular strolling work or restaurants, but this effect really isn't intended for that.
So I don't see any problem with refills for this trick. If you're a working pro and you find it to be a worthwhile addition to your show then who cares, it's less than 2 bucks a show. And this isn't something the hobbyists are going to be pulling out to show every cashier at the checkout or waitress at Dennys. Personally, 12 refills is probably a lifetime supply for me with this particular effect. Not that it's not good, it's just not something I would often have an opportunity to do. But I still went ahead and ordered it. |

I can't wait for people to start posting about the reactions they get when showing this. I don't have anything coming up for a month so I'm stuck practicing and coming up with patter etc. Now don't get me wrong you will have this down pat in no time but I tend to overwork my practice a bit. However, I am looking forward to the next time I perform this.

Two shows this weekend and looking forward to breaking this out. Just picked up two different "newspapers" and both have great material on the cover to work with.
