Hey guys, I like hourglasses. Do any of you own one or more?

I have a three minute egg timer; does that count?
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?

Lol. Nice one Brother.
Im looking for a nice antique wooden one. Some of the new ones are made with that old look to them as well. It would be beautiful on my bookshelf alongside a couple other items ![]() |

I had one but broke it trying to make a trick with it. I wanted to be able to slip a card into so as to reveal a picked card.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

I have two. One is brass and one has a wooden frame. I like the wooden one better except that it has purple sand. I prefer sand color . The brass one has white "sand".
We used to use the wooden one in a running gag with me (as an eager apprentice) doing a trick if there was time. I'd turn the hourglass while the Wizard was not looking to stretch the time. The Kids loved it. -Mary Mowder |

I use a 10 minute sand timer for intuitive readings/fortune telling... IMO, it's classier than a mechanical dial kitchen timer and/or digital timer (I also have both of those types of timers as back-ups, and for longer readings).

Sometimes our Wizard had an egg timer sandglass that had a nice wooden frame on a fob as a gag (along the lines of a pocket watch on a fob).

Hey All
I love hourglasses and I built my very own because I could not find what I was looking for. Here you can see me with my signature thought of card in hourglass effect. |

I have an exact 1:1 ratio replica of the hourglass of the Witch of the West from the 1939 film, "The Wizard Of Oz"
No clue how to post a photo of it here though.
