I feel like companies such as Ellusionist and Theory11 should invest in a UK warehouse.

Good idea. With Brexit we could do with a bit of extra business.

I was not complaining.I do not think it is too expensive.I just cannot see paying shipping when it could be a download.I would also gladly pay $15 for this .It is just that the dice are not necessary for me.The profit would be a little higher for Matt, without providing the dice and box.
how about just a download it should be easy to do ?Glenn |

Thanks for all of the buzz on Rhine's Dice, guys!
I can ask Theory11 about providing a 'download only' version, but I can't guarantee that it will happen. I'll be sure to let you know if this becomes an option! |

Heck, I'd still pay 14.99 for the download.

I rarely get giddy about very much. But I admit, when I watched the performance in the instructional vid, I experienced that very rare "WTF? - Shut the front door!" reaction. I was watching very closely for the "aha!" moment. But it never occurred. This made me feel like a little kid again.
And then when Matt explained it, I laughed so hard and immediately grabbed a die to try it out.....and what do ya know? - it REALLY ACTUALLY WORKS!! This is DEVILISHLY clever. The spectator either rolls the die to obtain a random number - OR - sets it to whatever number they wish. Either way, they then cover the die with their hand. Believe it or not, despite the fact that your back is turned the entire time, you will know the number. No questions, no fishing, and they say nothing. VERY, Very, good! I wish I could keep this all to myself. Most of us are familiar with the method behind phase 1, but combined with phase 2, this is a most excellent routine. A "no gimmicks" way to know the number on a hidden die. Unbelievable. This is easily the coolest thing I have purchased in a VERY long time. On a scale of 1 to 5, I give this a 10. The praise here is well-earned. Congratulations Matt! |

Ordered. If it's good enough for Mr. Nimh, it's good enough for me.

Those who find Phase 1 too transparent might want to browse a variety of dice tricks to find a presentation that suits them more.
(For example, I would eat my hat if Martin Gardner wasn't a productive source for this... ) This one I just found in one of my notes, not sure about its origin though: THE PENTAGRAMM DICE: Ask your participant to roll one of the dice with your back turned and cover it with their hand. You explain the significance of the pentagram:: "Note that the pentagram has two horns, pointing up for black magic and down for white magic. So please multiply the number on the die by two. Now, the pentagram has five sides, a very important number, so please add five to the last number! The pentagram also has five points so multiply the last number by another five. Now, with my back turned roll the other die, add the number rolled to the last number, and cover it like the first die. Finally please write the number you have in the centre of the pentagram!" You now turn to face your subject and the pentagram and simply subtract 25 from the number written to magically guess what the dice values thrown are. Personally, I'm not that fond of mathematical tricks but maybe some of you like it?

I suspect that while phase 1 may be transparent for most of us here, I strongly doubt that the laity will know what's going on with it.
On another note, thanks for sharing this "Pentagram" idea. This is definitely interesting - would love to know it origins. I wouldn't use it in performance, but it is worth noting for sure. |

Great link.
Loved the bits with 12 sided die. (I have a jar of polyhedral dice on my desk in front of me and have for some time now.) |

Having performed the first phase of the effect, I can confirm lay audience does not know what we magicians know about dice. It's been very fooling to those I've shown it to.

I wish I knew this was an immediate video I wouldn't have spent 9.95 for expedited shipping of 3 dice.
Anyway, I like it. |
