I thought I'd start a thread about John Guastaferro's new small book, "En Route." It's on my list to pick up. Has anyone had a chance to read it yet?

Awesome book, tested material, and engaging essays. No filler, no bs. The spectator cuts the aces effect "All in Their Hands" is worth the $25. Not a ton of hard sleight of hand here, just cleverly thought out methods/solutions to familiar card plots. Boxing Day is also fantastic.

Thanks for the comments guys, and John for the link to the review as well. I remember when the Brainstorm dvd's first came out in the early 2000's and became my favorite magic videos of all time. Great material across the board, and anyone who doesn't have those should ABSOLUTELY check them out. Just absolute gold, even if you're already familiar with some of the material through "One Degree". Obviously I'll be getting En Route at some point because I'm a huge fan, but always interested in hearing what others think of the material too.

I just came upon this watching a John G lecture on REELMagic.com. This material is great and I love John G’s performance style. The idea of making our magic “one degree better” is brilliant. I’ve been playing with the “in their hands” ace trick and I’m having fun trying to combine it with parts of Chad Long’s “Shuffle Lesson.” I am also really fascinated by the “virus” trick, although it’s going to take me some time to master the reverse fan! Holy crap, I’ve been fanning cards the same way for 50 years so I’m having to teach my brain and hands a whole new way of working! Thank you John G! Bravo!
